Is he? How many times has he broken the record compared to Bubka? I do agree he is the best with today’s equipment and heights he is soaring.

So equipment changes has nothing to do with going higher? You’re not limited by the pole length for example which matter especially with weight and technology. The technology has improved with bend, etc.

When we are stating tGOAT of any sport all factors need to be considered. That 19.32 Johnson ran in the 200 would have been faster on a different surface with different drag including clothes for example. Who pushed Johnson? Nobody was close to him. His 41 in the 4 is the same thing.

How about Jesse Owens running on cinders as opposed to today’s surfaces?

I just think we have to be careful with making GOAT statements.
