Mondo Duplantis - Euro Championships

Duplantis is currently winning the European championship. He’s cleared 19’10”1/4 which makes him the 4th highest pole vaulter in world history. Among the people he is beating today is the world record holder.

So, I'm curious, why is this kid coming to LSU? Isn't there a pro circuit for him? No one in college is going to challenge him.

His parents and siblings competed for LSU so he’d like to get the college experience for a year and carry on the family tradition. His dad will continue coaching him. It’s undestood that he will likely go pro after a year to cash in for Tokyo 2020
