It hurts recruiting when kids see possibly 4 juniors go in the first round?

Really? The easiest way to prevent players from going to the NFL is to recruit players that lack the talent to get to the NFL. Do you want Les to recruit those kind of players?! Man, some of you people...

Well, as usual, about 95% of the people on this board missed the point.

I understand fully why each of the players made the desions he made. And I agree - if I could make a few hundred thousand or a few million dollars next year, I certainly would.

So I wasn't asking you guys for your opinions on why these players all departed. Nor was I complaining about the situation.

What I'm saying is: the sheer number of players from one class departing early is highly unusual. And idiots like the posters on these boards and the pundits on ESPN will only speculate about what that means for THE PROGRAM in general. Not why each player made his individual decision - but what the record numeber of departures in one year says about the program, if anything.

If the HC does not address that, it can and will be the subject of speculation and almost certainly will affect recruting and the attitudes of some fans.

This is my point folks: I'm not asking why or whining about the departures - young men made decisions based ontheir own personal needs/desires - that's easy. What I am saying asking is what the Coach and the Univesrity say this means about the state of the program.

I just think the HC needs to nip the rumor mill in the bud and stop (to the extent he can) the additonal detrimental effect of those who would say -- as many on this board have -- that these departures are the beginning of the decline of the program or that they represent some kind of rift in between the players and the coaches.

Ok, go ahead and flame....

so let me get this straight...you want Miles to hold a press conference and explain the reason why each single player decided to leave.

In my mind, I'm already there.

PLAYING FOR LSU WAS NEVER THE GOAL.

I like your post. But this caught my attention. This is a problem and could explain the lame performances post BAMA loss. I understand ultimate personal goals but LSU deserves that a player ascribe to achieving program goals as well.

Yeah, no one owes you any sort of explanation.

Kids leave to go to the NFL. That's pretty much it.

but if kids (non seniors) that go in the 7th round are leaving and taking such risk...
there may well be another reason besides the money.
..let's not be blind at the possibilities.

LSU gave them the opportunity of a free education, remember?

Oh come-on I don't post on here often, but had to address this. LSU only gave them the opportunity of a free education so they could profit from them by having a good football team. They owe the school nothing. I guarantee if football didn't make the school money there wouldn't be a damn person getting a scholarship.

Oh, well, okay.

What I meant was, is that I have read enough of your 36000 posts to know that you don't know what the hell you're talking about. It's basically you, posting (do the math) more than ten times a day, about crap.

Did you understand that?
