I'm enjoying trolling the angry pricks on there. Some small minded folks.

Thats damn rediculous there.

Look I am a veteran and I am the first one to step up and defend another soldier but seriously. This didn't have anything to do with him being a Marine and its pretty likely the players had zero idea that he was a soldier. But all of this being said I predicted that this would happen a couple of days ago. ppl in Louisiana put our Tigers on a pedestal rightly or wrongly but their is one person that is higher and that is a soldier. Again I don't think him being a marine had anything to do with the fight, but i figured this would happen before it was over.

What, on earth, do the Marines have to do with a bar fight? Way, way out of touch.

What if this happened.
Some drunk rednecks in a truck, came up rolling in a pick-up honking their horn and yelling stuff like (get your black asses out of the way or you will get run over".
If I was them I would be thinking along those lines as that could be both a hate crime threat and attempted assualt with a deadly weapon. Which are both felony charges.
not saying that happened, but that is one possibility that I do not know if it has been discussed.

How about that... She doesn't know what happened and it is stupid to think otherwise. If that happened above as a black man I would have participated in the beat down.

I'm in the armed services, I hope this doesn't start to reflect on all branches. I agree that just because he is a marine is the victim. If I started shite in a bar I expect my arse to get beat whether Im in the Coast Guard or not.

Military men and women should know better than to judge JJ for this without knowing what happened.

I stand behind Miles with whatever decision he makes.

I served in the USMC Infantry and continue to serve as a federal officer, I've spent 17 years in either the military or law enforcement. I have a younger brother currently serving as a USMC Sgt. Major in Afghanistan. The response is indeed emotional and that is par for the course with most Marines and their families. The real issue is that nobody really knows what took place yet. Everybody needs to let the authorities investigate and hope their competent police officers (sometimes a big if I admit). If it comes out that JJ did something that merits an arrest than I'll open the door for him, until then we'll just have to be patient. Semper Fidelis.

Is it just me or do Marines act as if they aren't even a part of this country at all, they are something above and far more superior?

Hopefully the facts are revealed and this will go away. I'm curious about the marines end though. How his chain of command views this since he has been identified. I know if we have sailors caught out in town they go to DRB, XOI and then mast if warranted. I don't know the facts but he was in fact drunk and belligerent it could get ugly for that Marine at Office Hours. With the service drawing down any Alcohol Related incidents in your record could be grounds for dismissal from military service.

Opinion from a Vietnam USMC vet - this youngster is fresh out of boot camp - believe me when I say he really believes he can kick arse. Reality is outnumbered 4-1 you loose. Been there done that in my 20s.
Absolutely irrelevant this kid is a Marine. Footnote: Thanks for your service to our country

Hell, it may turn out that the marine is more a disgrace to the marines than JJ is.

I'm going to go on and say that that's probably a pretty easy call based upon what's come out so far.

..and now you seem worried for the kid?

I assure you he's not. His purpose was not support of JJ, but support of those crazies (mothers included?) making the death threats. Reread the first one he cited. That is RobbBobb in a nutshell.

WOW Who fricking cares if he was a marine. I could give two shits. He's just another dumb meathead when he's not in in afghanistan. Since when did being a marine exempt you from acting like a douche and getting in bar fights. Last i checked your more apt to it because of the close relationship to violence. This whole marin charrade is fricking laughable.

Agree! ^

As a current NCO in the Army as a Scout I have a pretty good concept when it comes to service members getting into bar fights.... it is all too common! And to think the "marine" didn't open his mouth or say anything to instigate is truly a unbelievable statement. When I was young in the Army, myself and many many others always went out, got drunk and started shite. Its very common for this kind of activity to happen.

I go to LSU/BR bars regularly when I'm home and I couldn't tell how many times I watch a new guy strait out of basic or whatever start shite because now he thinks he is a badass due to some quick mediocre training that only last a few weeks. At the same time I have watch them get the shite kicked out of them by a variety of people.

As for him being a "hero"... I am currently on my 5th deployment(3 Iraq, 2 Afghan) and the only hero's I know are the ones who have gone above and beyond their tasking, not just sign up on a dotted line. Ok, so he had balls or whatever to sign up, that doesn't give him the "hero" title automatically. You have to do something extraordinary to earn that title. I have a large list of awards including 2 purple hearts but I don't think of myself as a "hero" I was just doing what was expected of me. So what makes him this so called "hero"?

Bottom line.... if someone/anyone regardless of occupation runs their mouth or starts shite at a bar and gets the shite kicked out of them then maybe next time they won't write a check their arse can't cash.

I am not condoning the situation, its just how I feel about bar fights and how this is being blown way out of proportion and/or context.
