Miles = Dinardo

Miles career is following Dinardo's. A lot of initial excitement, followed by questionable coaching, and mostly importantly stubbornly tying themselves to people and things that don't work, with the end result being firing. Just like Dinardo's insane loyalty to Lou Tepper, Miles' insane loyalty to Crowton and (in lesser way) to Jefferson looks it may end in his demise. Miles had a chance at the end of last year to get rid of the obviously inept Crowton, just like Dinardo did with Tepper. Loyalty is an admirable quality, but it can sometimes be a coach killer.

Miles > DiNardo
One can argue both recruit equally well. DiNardo surrounded himself with (edit to correct spelling) far less talent in the assistant coaching world. DiNardo seemed to accept mediocracy and never felt LSU could be elite. Miles knows LSU can be elite and works to get LSU back on track. We may not approve of Miles' techniques, but he is a step above DiNardo.

You are stupid. How many years did Dinardo sign top 5 classes and win more than 9 games. Disliking Les is one thing pulling comparisons out of your arse is another. Loyalty.

I've been and will continue to be a very loyal LSU and even Miles supporter, but facts are facts, and I'm speaking about this objectively.

I'm speaking about a character trait both had that is increasingly rare, but I still think it has and will cost him. That is all.

this is stupid. fact is dinardo never made it 6 years. miles has never had a losing season either. he's well on his way to have another 9 or 10 wins for only the 4th, if 10, or 5th time, if nine, in six years.
the ignorance on this board is amazing.

They are equal in that both coaches were unable to keep both offense and defense operating. For Miles, the offense has fallen apart, and he can't seem to right the ship. For DiNardo, it was the defense.
In both cases, the athletic talent seemed to exceed the results. Hence, folks blame the coaches.

jacksimmons gets it.
My title is a little misleading. I think Miles has more coaching ability, or is at least a better manager than DiNardo. I'm really talking about their undoing. The frustration with the offense is reaching a boiling point just like with the defense in the Tepper days. It is no longer excusable - last year there were plenty of viable excuses, but even the positive folks aren't really deep down buying it this year (if only Jefferson had a another year). Anyway, I was having flashbacks to the Tepper saga and was wondering if anyone else was.
I love being called stupid by people pointing out that Miles won more games.
I am proud of the Tigers for finding a way to win and love watching that D!
