The staged spear incident was against Florida State. I also remember when we played FSU late in '82 that they staged a guy dressed up as a Seminole before the real Seminole came out to gallop his horse out to the 50yd line. Of course all the student section was begging him to come on down closer. The guy gallops towards the student section and they pelted him with frozen oranges (if we won we went to the Orange Bowl that year), similar to the opening scene in Dance With Wolves.

Another funny Mike moment was in '82 or '83 before the Halloween game with Old Piss. Before the band comes down to the field but after team warmups, a black hearse solemnly rolls on the field on near the Tiger sidelines then stops on about the 20 yd line in front of the students. The male LSU cheerleaders run over, open the back, pull out the casket and leave it. A few moments later Mike jumps out with a Count Dracula costume, tophat and cape. Classic!! Mark Jeffers was the man back then.

Those were the good ole days when Mike was actually part of the band. I believe he is now part of the cheerleaders. It's just not the same.

I also remember Brent. I was in the band when that accident occurred. Good guy.

The guy that came out of the ceiling was a Tropper by the name of Mike O'Neal who had been the bands escort for years then went onto watch Dale Brown. Talk about a character,it was my pleasure to have known him.

Another one that did it was my dad, he managed the PMAC for quite a few years, did a lot of concerts. I'm not sure how many times he repelled as Mike, but I have a picture of him upside down halfway down the rope.

Mark is alive and well. He works at Paragon Casino.

And he still has that "Mike walk". It's kinda funny.
