But Mort said he was one of the best out there at Manning's Passing Camp.

no, i never read that garbage. the comparison is pretty obvious. 6'5" black qb with similar records as underclassmen. Similar tools. Similar fanbase scrutiny. Similar coaching scenario.

I'll believe it when i see him step up in the pocket, and hit a receiver that wasn't primary. Or on 3rd and 7 actually go to a receiver 8 yds. down field and not 3. Not crazy about the way he looks toward the sideline, hands out at his side with that blank look on his face.

JJ and Jason Campbell are virtually identical. Before his senior year, Campbell got a new OC, Borges, and the light came on.
having Cadillac and Ronnie Brown in the backfield didn't hurt...

he could have won 4 heisman's if Crowton hadn't been here

or you could easily say JJ and MArcus Randall are nearly identical. And the light never did come on

Playing in a t-shirt & shorts, while being able to stare down his receivers, with no one rushing him, has never been a problem for JJ.
Translation: He'd be an awesome intramurals QB. But as far as playing in the SEC - he'll still suck.

His progress will be confirmed (or not) 3 of 4 series into the Oregon game. Until then, there is no basis for any sort of confirmation.

Meh, I am a JJ supporter, but he has always looked good in practice. He's got a live arm, good mechanics, etc. We'll see how he performs in games.

It's a sad day.
If Mett drew glowing reviews, what would be said?
JJ wasn't the only SEC qb out there.... If their guys drew this kind of praise, it would be pointed out come gametime.
If it was Lee? If it was Anyone else this fanbase would respect it.

Sucks that we don't have talent like that.

Good mechanics? It always looked like he was winding up to throw a curve ball to me
