Really? Be sure and call the Advocate (and pretty much every other media outlet) and let them know of their mistake.

5th paragraph down

I also linked the 2006 article when the series was first announced. I'll be waiting for the link that tells me it was ever scheduled for 2012.

Typically everyone in the SEC plays 3 cupcakes and one major out of conference (though someone like Duke will appear to be minor). Of those 3 cupcakes, one of them will likely be an FCS team.

I wouldn't worry so much how you deal with teams like that. Last year we struggled against a very good FCS team: Georgia Southern. We weren't ready for their triple option -- they scored more points on us than any other team (FCS, FBS or any BCS contender) did the whole season.

To keep from looking bad, play well against conference opponents. Ya'lls game against Auburn may have looked bad but you came off with a victory on the road. Don't apologize for that.

Remember that Bama barely beat UT 12-10 in 2009 before winning the NCS (UT turned out to be a decent team but Auburn may get better too).

So explain why Oklahoma which at the time was #4 played on the road at UTEP?

I agree with your logic. But teams don't always follow logic.

Well you proved us wrong

Also why did the Advocate quote a player about the game that probably won't even be on the LSU roster next year.

Wasn't the original intent...but the guy said I was wrong.

The original intent was to point out that a lot of folks think LSU gets put in these scheduling binds because teams pull out or series get pushed back and sometimes that obviously happens. Just wasn't the case here...LSU just filled a slot...who they contacted or who may have turned them down we'll never know.
