I agree, but Augusta has been lengthened so much the bombers have a great advantage.
I followed he and Toms for the back nine on Tuesday and they were, more often than not, side by side off the tee. I've heard Toms admit that Augusta's length puts him at a disadvantage.
Both were striking it really solid and I expect both to make the cut.

I will say I was impressed that Peterson had 2 eagle putts yesterday. He may not have superior length, but he was able to get himself in good position on both 13 and 15.

Just hope they both make the cut. If either is in contention come sunday, that would be a bonus.

As you mentioned, placement of your tee shots is so critical. Shaping your shot to hit some of the down slopes in the fairways can give you a lot of extra distance.
I watched John & David both hit 3 wood on 10. David went down the left and hit down slope of the hill, John pushed it a little right and stayed on top. David was literally 50 yards past him.
They did have several Tiger fans following them and I know they heard more than one "Geaux Tigers" after many of their shots.

Gets the par on 1. Hope he is on similar to yesterday. If he can stay in the red, I'll be very happy.
A lot of people are dropping strokes. It's a bit rainey and it may be having an affect on the golfers. Par's will be welcomed by Peterson.

As of now it is looking like the cut will be between +2 and +4 either top 50 or 10 strokes from the leader. Garcia has already dropped 2 strokes today.

I figured there'd be more actual coverage on golf channel but I don't keep up too much with the sport. Guess I'll keep watching masters.com.
