I think they're saying that Spears is saying what he's saying to appear non-biased.
I don't know why people have a problem believing he really isn't that excited about the football team, and he's under no obligation to pump the team if he can't get behind those thoughts.

This thread is calling out a former player and a guy who won a national championship for being biased against LSU.
I dont Think what lsu2006 said was juvenile considering people are actually shitting on him for not making his prediction based on the potential that our offense could be good.

Or maybe he’s just giving an honest opinion? I’d say he’s been pretty fair with his analysis over the years. Everyone will question our offensive productivity until we show them something. I don’t see him badmouthing the defense.

I have been saying this over and over.
An LSU coach has lost more than three regular season games only three times since 2001.
2002
2008
2014
All of those teams not only had absolute dumpster fires at QB, they also had below average defenses for LSU and nothing close to what Aranda will put out this year.
Think back to how those seasons felt and now think of this year with a blue chip Urban Meyer trained college graduate at QB and this Aranda D.
There is no scenario where this team being added to that awful list of seasons shouldnt be considered a complete disaster.
8-4 would be a huge failure and yet another red mark on O’s “resume”.
7-5 or 6-6 would be an epic pile of shite that O would have no business surviving.
