Can't even ask questions around here apparently. You all are awfully sensitive today.

That was the beauty of it. There wasn't a player package tied to the play calls. The play was called and the fresh guys were in there. Finally taking advantage of how fricking deep we are.

Didn't hear this, thanks for sharing!

All I asked was the background for the question. I expected there had to be something more than a different WR3 getting playing time, but if Ensminger said that then I understand the source of the question.

Glad I could help clear that up. Sorry for the negative comment on my part. I'll remove it.

What sparked this question? I didn't see any major changes in personnel Saturday.

After I read this quote I knew it would be you. Looked up to see who posted and yep...slackster. follow miles to his next stop. If you didn't see personal changes you didn't even watch the game.

They rotated WRs more often. That isn't exactly a premise for the question to be asked the way it was. As you'll note, someone cleared it up later in the thread that Ensminger or Orgeron made a comment about leaving the personnel decisions up to the position coaches.

So should we fire Coach O because we didn't win by 60???? I got a better idea to make you feel better. We should just bring Miles back... Would that cure your stupidity????

PJ, what the frick are you talking about?

This thread took a weird turn from page one. Someone posted a comment about the personnel changes and the previous regime. I didn't understand the basis for the comment considering all I recalled form the game Saturday was more rotation at WR. I personally don't view that as a major personnel decision, but whatever. Since then people have been flipping out as if it was some sort of support for Miles. You all have lost your damn mind.

Hell yes.

This thread has been a disaster. I asked a question that wasn't answered until page 4 and people took it to be some sort of pro-Miles statement. Idk what the hell happened in here.

ETA: This was posted by D500MAG a page ago:

This question came from Ensminger saying he left the personnel decisions up to the position coaches, that it was their job and he trusted them to do it.

I hadn't heard that comment, hence I didn't understand where the question on page 1 originated.

Well I have seen A ton of your posts since MIles was fired and you seemed rather sad... AND After the game Saturday it seems you are reluctant to give proper credit where it is due....

I've defended him form unnecessary criticism about his entire time here. Haven't once suggested he needed to stay anymore.

I believe the most important part of the game plan Saturday was the energy - more important than play calling and all of that stuff. The coaches and players have said since then that they weren't calling new plays out there, they just changed their approach to when those plays should be called. That was my point Saturday night. There weren't wholesale changes and there weren't going to be wholesale changes. Tinkering with what you call and when you call it helped, but that was the same offense we've seen for a few years except it was repackaged with a nice little bow on top.

None of that should be taken as "pro-Miles" though, by any stretch. I believe I even stated how bad it was for Miles because the team was basically the same but his staleness and reluctancy to tinker with even the most minute things were obviously holding them back.

This was more than just a bow on the offense. Sure we ran play X with miles and against Missouri. But that doesn't make them the same. One coaching staff called plays so that the defense knew what was coming. Another coach called it so the defense didn't always know what was coming. Despite what Miles thinks that does make a big difference.

Ex. notice the two jet sweeps followed immediately by two fake jet sweeps. Just one example of many.

I didn't mean to insinuate otherwise. We took the same offense and repackaged it. Changing the sequence and breaking tendencies is part of the repackaging, but the plays themselves are what they are.

One guy responded with the context that explained the basis for the question. I thanked him and that was that. Everyone else tried to make it something it wasn't.
