Slow start in a new system or is it just bad?

They have played against two very good mobile QB's. give them time to play together for a couple more games.

Our front 4 have been desent, they have put pressure on QBs and recorded some sacks. The defense was great against Vandy but we have to realize we are not going to be good every game

I think it's a matter of getting the right guys in the right places at the right time. They were solid against Vandy.

Apart from the first half against UW I'm pleased with our D - and they'll get better each week/game.

no fire...yet. At least I hope about the "yet" part. And, one of them needs to step up and lead!!!

I think the DLine has been solid. The gameplan against UW made for them to be in an interesting position. Coaches seemed to get conservative bend-don't break after the pick 6. They had some missed tackles and weren't great at contain, but not bad overall.

Against Vandy, they played solid given that the option read is extremely difficult to defend against great athletes. Vandy's QB is a top notch athlete, believe that. The rain didn't help, and outside of some missed tackles and a need to improve on maintaining contain on a mobile QB, they improved lots.

Overall, the defense is improving and we won't face another freak mobile QB likely until we play UF. In that game, I think we'll see whether the defense has improved.
