What's the reason for it? Even with a significant part of the fan base opposed to Miles, blue chip recruits continue to roll in.

I kinda think the Saints have somethin to do with it. With the saints bein good, it instills state pride in the youth and make them wanna rep Louisiana for life. Therefore lots of top recruits in a state loaded with talent stay at home and go to LSU.

Drew Brees is the Saints #1 recruiter

It is still considered "cool" to play for LSU.

Miles has very little to do with that, one way or another...which is fortunate.

The significant part of the fan base you speak of is on this silly board. Most rational folks see what the parents of recruits and the recruits themselves see. Miles is a good man who looks after his players and the parents trust him. Plus, LSU is a pretty darn good institution, the facilities are grade A, the stadium rocks, and believe it or not the kids are prepared for the next level if they are good enough. The two BCS championships in the past 6 or 7 years doesn't hurt either.

The only detriment I see to LSU is that BR is a so-so town (imho) and a small percentage of the fans are class A arseholes. But I'm sure most fanbases of big-time programs have the same.

Yeah, had to go there. Call it like I see it. I grew up just outside of BR and have been there thousands of times, but it's not a city that I just can't live without. LSU is easily the best thing about BR, then comes the food. Drawing a blank after that. Oh wait, BR does have some frigging beautiful women. In that case, I recant my so-so town comment.

BR Rocks!!!!!

I find this hard to believe. I know many LSU fans who aren't on this site who feel strongly against Miles. I'm just surprised (and happy) this doesn't impact recruiting.

Yeah man it's all Drew Brees. He is going into people's homes and selling LSU to them. I bet Purdue fans are pissed.

You tell 'em KennesawTiger.

I thank god that Bama played here last year - it gave Saban an opportunity to step again into LSU and the Tiger Stadium field.

This momentary contact that Saban had with us has inspired the recruits to sign up in droves with us once again.

I was afraid that after the Saban's recruits were gone we would suffer but now thanks to the schedule - every alternate year Saban steps on the field and his remaining aura will help us get the players.

I can only hope that he washes his hands in the field/spits in it and/or leaves the unwashed towels behind - more of him that we can use to enhance our program and lure recruits.

Did it ever enter your mind that "a significant part of the fan base " consists of the negatigers that post on this site. The rest of the tiger faithful are behind him 100%.You are naive if you don't think the recruits respect and like him. Tell it like it is !
