They have to seriously think about it if LSU won like 31-10 or something that was eye catching. Plus, Oregon would never have a shot of outing us in the computers.

When LSU and Bama play it could be a 1 vs 2 matchup so the loser wouldn't even fall out the top 4 or 5 with a fg victory.

I dunno about this, the loss to Bama would be later in the year and the voters wouldn't want to leave Oregon out if they were the only other conference champ with 1 loss

What if the one loss was a beat down by us?

Matt probably ran the calculation last year before the Arkansas game.

Does anyone know if he did/remember any thread/talk about it?

I think there was a possible situation where we beat Arky and not even get to the Sugar because SC would get it. We could have possibly passed Boise but there was no way to get past Oregon.

You've got to admit, that'd be a SWEET SWEET scenario.

It'd be terrible

The only thing better than beating Alabama would be beating Alabama in the MNC game after losing to them in a close one during the regular season.

But what if we won? What if we go into Tuscaloosa and beat them and finish our brutal gauntlet of a schedule undefeated, then win the SECG. Then we'd have to beat Bama again? frick that. If they beat us in the NCG, they'd finish the season 12-1. We'd be 13-1 and also SEC champions. And we would have slit the series 1-1, with our win on the road being more impressive than theirs on a neutral site. Yet, they'd be national champs? Again, frick that.

It sounds great if we lose the 1st game and get another shot. But the truth is we wouldn't deserve another shot--we had it and lost. This scenario certainly could happen. But it shouldn't. It's not fair for the team that wins the regular season game.
