i said this last season. watch us (LSU) lose a close game at home say to alabama.. no way in the hell they put us in.. which is total BS..
i just know they'd put in a 1 loss team with a loss like oregon st had in over us.. just complete bs.

Question regarding what creates a "media darling." These are usually associated with larger markets that can generate ratings for ESPN. However, there are those teams that are still considered "media darlings" that are not in large markets, i.e. Alabama and Notre Dame. Although they both have strong histories in college football and Notre Dame still seems to remain a "media darling" even though they are consistently terrible, it seems bama did not become this full fledged "media darling" until Nick Saban showed up and they started winning again.
Thinking hypathetically, if Nick Saban returns to LSU instead of going to Bama and there is no Les Miles, do you think LSU would be considered a "media darling?"
Thanks

Posted by Roll JaMarcus Roll You do realize not a single team finished the season last year unbeaten? The chance is about 2%.
The same exact scenario already had happened in 2006...no rematch for Michigan. So it could happen again, and now we know Bama gets preferred treatment.

the media forced it last year and the media will never let it happen again

Everyone figured beforehand that z rematch would hurt ratings. Media powers didn't care before so why care now?
