LSU to become heavyweight champ 10/10/09?

If you use boxing's technique of determining the champion, and you begin with Princeton/Rutgers in 1869, Florida is the current "heavyweight champion." That they are the current national champion is a slight coincidence.
Florida 2009 Schedule
9-5-08 CHARLESTON SOUTHERN
9-12-08 TROY
9-19-08 TENNESSEE
9-26-08 at Kentucky
10-10-08 at Louisiana State
10-17-08 ARKANSAS
10-24-08 at Mississippi State
10-31-08 vs. Georgia @Jacksonville, FL
11-7-08 VANDERBILT
11-14-08 at South Carolina
11-21-08 FLORIDA INTERNATIONAL
11-28-08 FLORIDA STATE
Clearly LSU has the first decent shot at the title.
LSU 2009 Schedule
9-5-09 at Washington
9-12-09 VANDERBILT
9-19-09 LOUISIANA-LAFAYETTE
9-26-09 at Mississippi State
10-3-09 at Georgia
10-10-09 FLORIDA
10-24-09 AUBURN
10-31-09 TULANE
11-7-09 at Alabama
11-14-09 LOUISIANA TECH
11-21-09 at Mississippi
11-28-09 ARKANSAS
If LSU is to beat Florida and become the heavyweight champion, looks like Alabama has the first really good shot.
If Alabama is to take the title in November, it won't be until at least December until someone comes along and has a chance to take it away. Perhaps Florida in the SECCG or a strong bowl opponent.
Um, GEAUX TIGERS.

I'm pretty sure LSU had this "title" at some point in 2007...do we know where it went after that? Kentucky?? Arkansas? How did Florida lay claim to it?

Is there a title belt that passes from school to school ?

I'm a big boxing fan and if it were me, I would call Oct 10 a non title fight with LSU being a top 10 contender and UF being the champ after a long layoff. Dec 5. will be the title fight and the BCSCG will be the unified pound for pound title fight.

LSU < Arkansas
Arkansas < Missouri (Cotton Bowl)
Missouri < Oklahoma State
Oklahoma State < Texas
Texas < Texas Tech
Texas Tech < Oklahoma
Oklahoma < Florida (BCSNCG)
