Lonergan sucked at snapping the ball the entire game. I think that is something often overlooked in the Spring game...
The QBs had to constantly locate the ball or jump for it...
That knocks the rhythm off plays, especially plays like reverses, shovels, etc.
I sure as hell hope we get bigger in the middle on the DL. That or we have a mauler OL now too. I guess we'll find out if we had a good OL runblocking or a bad run defense...

That Int was part RR. Our guys did not catch well in the Spring game. JJ didn't play well, but there were alot of drops and short-arming from our WR's,as well. All the strides from Gonzales I've been hearing, didn't translate to gametime, yet.

I thought Lee looked pretty good...aside from the pick 6. His mechanics are waaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than JJ. JL came back and commanded the offense well after the TD. His incompletions were coming from Mingo/Montgomery constantly on his arse and dropped balls mainly...
He didn't really throw many bad passes and sometimes threw fairly well under pressure.
JJ looked horrible the entire game. What did he have, 3 completions?

I'll skip that shite. I can't watch it again. This will be the last yr we have to put up with that dipshit of a coach, thank God.

Agreed. I think Lee is the better QB, but the only thing about Lee is the fact that he seemed to play much better after the pick 6. Which means imo that the whole pick 6 thing is a mental problem that the coaches have to work with him on. It's like he's waiting for the pick 6 to happen, and once it does, he settles in and starts playing well. If Lee can get over that mentality, I really think he could be a great QB.

Jefferson looked terrible. He's getting worse.

Mingo on the Strong side was sheer genius. I would of thought he was a WDE, if he was even a DE(thought would be a 3-4 lb). At his size, he just gives R-arm QB's fits. Even when he doesn't get the sacks, he makes them throw quick as he starts to close on that right arm. His length also makes them throw high. A couple time JL had to get rid of it short to the left side, because thats the only place he could throw it with Mingo's rush. He's going to be special.

Jordan Jefferson looked at home, lost! Jarrett Lee looked more mature and polished. Kevin Mentor was all over the field and made tackles. Montgomery and Mingo are for real. 3rd and long is going to equal third and nightmare for opponents. Offensive line looks like they had a fire lit some where in their posterior. Very young but extremely talented.

After watching jeffersons performance again...I feel better about him than the first time watching...
The receivers especially Russel dropped crucial passes that were put in good spots. Not easy throws. This would not only help his stats but his confidence as well. I read a lot on here and its really becoming a popular thing to bash Jefferson... after watching again some of the blame has to go to others as well! IMHO...

Could that be because he has not been at LSU during 'game time' yet?
You people do know that the spring game is really just a practice right?

Negative. Spring game is identical to what we'll see all season.

I've been hearing that Couch G has really been working the recievers. Also, that Shep really showed progress at the Manning camp. So Hopefully, we will see some improvement.

I watched it again for the 5th time. RS is so talented and Mingo is a beast and from my hometown too(West Monroe)!

I think the most concerning thing is our undersized line. Like one of the guys said, Bama is going to cram it up our arse with power football. We already know about the other problems on the team.
I really don't think it was the OL just being vastly improved this year but rather, LSU being very undersized in the front 4. I don't think we have anyone that is at 300lbs starting. Then at the back 3 LBs, they're pretty small too outside KS/Minter. I would not be surprised to see Minter in the middle and KS slide over to OLB to maximize size/strength for run downs. Have Francois in on obvious passing situations.
The good news about DL though, as I've felt for awhile, they're very talented but inexperienced. We have 2 deep depth in every position with legit guys that can start. Its also good to have someone like Lavar Edwards who is a pretty big DE and Davenport, which is a huge DT. So, if we're struggling on the run, slide them in. I'm not as much concerned about DEs being small but rather the DTs being a bit undersized. I also don't agree with Pep starting. No offense, but the guy didn't exist last year. I sure as hell hope he buffed up because he wasn't a big DE either and still couldn't get pressure.

Remember that our best DT did not play as well as our best linebacker, Shepperd. We have a couple of freshman coming in that will give the others guys a run for the money. The offensive line looked better even if our defensive line is a bit undersized. Remember last year it was inferior to teams like La. Tech. And that is no joke. I agree that other than the play of JJ, there is a lot of positives that came out of this scrimmage. The Tigers will be a much improved team this year. All the naysayers will be eating their words.
