LSU QB situation and season outlook

Here is another thread to add to the Burrow train on this Thursday afternoon. My thoughts on the matter - I know you’ve all been on the edge of your seats...so downvote away snowflakes
Joe Burrow seems like he would be a great addition to an already talented LSU team. He was a great high school QB - like Myles Brennan, but hasn’t had the opportunity to shine at Ohio state. It appears as though his leadership, and age, and maturity level are just what this young LSU teams needs. My hope is like everyone else’s, I don’t care who wins the starting gig, I just want it to be the best QB with confidence. Someone who can make a 3rd down read and deliver a first down pass when we need it. Confidence is something you can’t teach, like maturity, some have it and some don’t regardless of talent. And maturity breeds success in games against quality opponents like Auburn, Bama, Florida, Georgia.
In response to McMillian’s tweet, that’s sad. It shows his lack of maturity and grit to use a real deceptive way of communicating his feelings. It appears he does not have the emotional maturity to lead LSU in a 4th quarter two minute drive, much less an offseason QB competition. I would rather he and Brennan, and Narcisse, shut up and nutt up and come in and say I’ll be damn if someone is going to transfer in and take my spot.
As for Brennan and Narcisse, they showed in the spring game they are still miles away confidence wise. Just play the game. Go out and compete and do what you do. Just win. Simple as that. If you want to be the starting QB at LSU then go get the damn starting QB position at LSU, achieve greatness - strive for it, work hard. But I don’t foresee either of them leading this team. I hope someone steps up in summer camps. Why would you not want the responsibility and leadership role to be the QB for Louisiana State?? Take that and run with it.
My hopes and prediction. I suspect Joe Burrow to transfer here to LSU and compete for the starting job. Unlike Miles, I hope Orgeron does not submit to the seniority or locker room favorite and play Brennan or Narcisse or McMillian. Unless one of them wins the job and kicks arse.
It would be nice to see competency in the pocket for LSU and utilizing all the weapons we have at WR like Marshall, Sullivan, Jefferson, and Giles.
Competition breeds success and it allows someone to grit their teeth and rise above everyone
Here’s to hoping Joe Burrow comes to LSU and lays a solid QB foundation for Grant Gunnell in the years to come.
TLDR - Joe Burrow is mature, let’s go kick some teeth in on the bayou

You are reading way too much into this tweet. Maybe he means he’s motivated to work hard and win the job no matter who is in front of him.

Good post and accurate. Bottom line is that if we had a QB that the staff trusts, he wouldn’t even be considered.
In the West, State, OM, Auburn, Bama and even Texas A&M have QBs they trust. They are not going after him.
I’m not sure LSU has a legit SEC starter level QB on the roster.
O, for all his faults, likely knows this is it for him unless he wins 7-8 this season. This guy could get him to 7-8.

You know damn well what he meant by "being toyed with". I know it and so does everyone else, his feelings were hurt that O is looking at another qb.

Kid has stuck it out for 3 full seasons. Busted his butt. Im giving him the benefit of the doubt. He could mean the exact opposite of what some assume.

Yep read that tweet 20 times and I could never read that into the quote. No every which way you slice up that tweet it pretty much says he is pissed and feels betrayed.

People using social media to share their thoughts and beliefs - much like people getting the red arse on here - are just immature. For mcmillian it’s the millennial age also of seeking attention for something. I watched him play at Cedar Hill south of Dallas in state championship versus Katy. He had Demarkus Lodge to lob the ball too all season, and a good defense. I am not impressed with McMillian. Would have rather him shut his trap and play ball and try to win the starting gig, watch film, learn playbook. That 35% of the playbook for our QB’s is sad? Rather McMillian tweet - “give me more plays from that playbook I’m about to turn some damn heads”
And if it sounds like I’m shatting on McMillian I’m not. You are part of the soft snowflake problem. It’s tough love. And he is not good enough to be the QB at LSU. But I hope he reads this and proves me wrong

I dont see how that part of the tweet can be interpreted any other way. I agree that he has stick it out and put in work though.

Burrow is going to go to whatever school promises him he’ll be the starter. Of course the coach isn’t going to come out and say that in the media; he’s gonna say they’ll all compete and blah blah blah. If he comes here, he’s gonna start. Period.

That's absolutely right. Burrow is done sitting on a bench. If he has to SETTLE all the way down to lowly Ohio University, he will.
Posted on 5/10/18 at 5:19 pm to jgriffith
He won't have to settle, because one of these big-time coaches is gonna give him the guarantee... my guess is it'll be O. I can already hear his weekend spiel now.
