LSU Policy On Streaming?

I'm sure this has been discussed before, so I apologize in advance. Why does LSU not allow you to stream any of there athletic events? I'm sure they figure that it's costing them money in some way, but I guess I'm not smart enough to figure out how. Can someone please educate me!

The rights have been purchased by someone, most is by ESPN. LSU probably doesn't care but the person that paid LSU certainly does.

Thanks, for the info. I guess my main point of ignorance is with the radio broadcast. Eagle 98.1 has the rights to LSU locally, but you cant listen via the app on your phone or computer. What makes this different than listening on the radio?

It has to do with the "LSU Radio network" broadcasting....or something along those lines...Notice the official LSU programs don't say Eagle 98.1 during the program.

LSU wants the traffic on their website and app for ad revenue. It would not make sense to let 98.1 stream the audio when they provide a site to do so.

You used to have to pay to stream so it made sense then.
You can get around it by listening via wwl 870 with the TuneIn app. Theyve streamed them all thus far.
