Well I'm wrong again Theo is listed at 6'10", 235 by nba.com. Maybe I'm just a Varnado hater. He actually will be a JR this year too.

At this point, unless he makes huge strides this season, Varnado is likely going to need to be a four-year prospect. This season will be a good test for him, as he now must become more of a factor in the Bulldog’s offense. While there have been hints of a developing mid-range jumper, he must first become a more effective low post scorer, and adding weight would be a step in the right direction for him. Showing more hustle as a perimeter defender too would only add to his growing reputation as a stopper on the other end of the floor. It is likely Varnado will draw interest this season simply because of his length and athleticism, as so many players of his make-up do. Showing improvements in his skill set this season will lift him from simply an intriguing athlete to a legitimate NBA prospect.

one thing i have always liked is that he can really attack the goal, it just seems like he never got the freedom to do so under brady. once butch became coach stuff started to open up a bit more for everyone.
No reason to do that when they had Darrel Mitchell, Glenn Davis, Brandon Bass, Tyrus Thomas and Tasmin Mitchell in the lineup.
In the 6 SEC games before Brady was fired they averaged 65 PPG, in 10 SEC games under Pierre 68 PPG. That is not a lot of difference considering they played most of the SEC games under Brady without Chris Johnson in the lineup or in a limited role after his injury. In fact if you don't factor in the first game against Miss. ST. which was their second game without CJ the PPG were almost identical.

seems a bit disingenuous to not mention the fact that LSU was 1-6 in the SEC under Brady, and 5-5 under Pierre. You can have your points, I'll take the wins.

Wasn't being disingenious, just pointing out not a lot of difference in points. There was a big difference in defense and rebounding with CJ in the lineup which resulted in more wins. With CJ in the lineup they would not have started 1-6.

I don't agree with Tyler Smith as #3 prospect. He is most effective in a helter skelter type game which Tennesse plays, bu the may be undersized for the NBA and he does not shoot that well from the perimeter. J. R. Prince is the best NBA prospect on the Tennessee team.
Chandler Parsons may one day be ranked higher, but he is not yet consistent enough to rank #6.
My rankings:
#1 Andrew Ogilvy
#2 Patrick Patterson
#3 Marcus Thornton
#4 Ronald Steele (if recovered from knee injury)
#5 Tasmin Mitchell
#6 J.P. Prince
#7 Devan Downey
#8 Nick Calathes
#9 Chris Johnson
#10 Tyler Smith
#11 Jarvis Varnado
#12 Chandler Parsons
#13 Alonzo Gee
#14 Garrett Temple
#15 Chris Warren

so you really think that a 5-8 shooting guard in Downey is a better NBA prospect than a 6-6 point guard like Calathes?

RE: Tyler Smith
He is an excellent defender. It's a big part of his game.

Tyrus Thomas and Brandon Bass were never ever in the same lineup. Tyrus redshirted in Brandon's last year.
