I'll be frank...when I was a student in the late 80's/early 90's, we did lame-arse shite too. We were blessed that we actually had good teams those years, with players like Shaq and Chris Abdul-Jackson. The student section for basketball then was kinda like a mini-football student section now...very vulgar and drunk. We used to have to camp out for tickets, and by gametime, everyone who sat up close was pretty liquored up. There was the wonderfully creative "ho-mo-sexual" chant for Christian Laettner when he walked on the floor. Great stuff there.
We did get inside of Tennessee center Doug Roth's head one time though...he turned around after making a 3 and flipped off the student section
. Don DeVoe, Tennessee's coach at the time, took him out of the game for good. They were down 20 at the time. CJ scored 50 that day. Ahh the good old days. So yeah, I guess I am just a bitter old man to be yelling at the Maravich Maniacs for being lame

I'm 49 yrs old and was an LSU student in late 70s/early 80s ("glory days" of LSU basketball). True the atmosphere in the PMAC isn't now what it was then. But the teams were much better then, than now. Also, as I recall, LSU baseball then was basically non-existent and I used to watch games standing on the lightpole outside the wall and there were maybe 100 people in attendance. Anyway, myself, and anyone else who isn't currently a student, had our runs. Now we're old farts and if you're criticizing 18 yr old kids for being immature and yelling stupid things at a game , get over yourself. It's THEIR time to be students and have fun and yell and cheer. Oh, and why don't you GFY.
