really? he never checks into plays at the line? like the TD against UGA to seal the fricking game? Kid is young and still learning. If you don't see that with good coaching he could be ATLEAST as good as Flynn and Mauck (who won championships as a 5th year senior and a 24 year old) then you're crazy

thanks for making my point.
his inexperiece hurts the team at present. He has yet to grasp the game. Coaches can't push a button and make him good over nite.
I've been telling ya'll that Miles and Crowton are handicapped by having to play young QBS. Yet you blame the coaches. They can't make him older!

QB development has been absolutely abysmal at best. JJ has talent, look at his HS career.

Al Bundy scored 4 touchdowns in one game at Polk High and went to the city championship!

Hasn't Jefferson started more games then Mallett?

Elleshoe, you are better than this. Your posts are generally quite accurate. You blew it on this one.

They have started similar number of games. Probably not more than 1 or 2 game difference. Mallet started all games this year, Jeff all but one. Mallet started like 3 or 4 for UM as a freshman I think.

So it may not be the exact same number but real close.

That Polk High team was loaded with talent that year.

Unstoppable was the description often used. Then a large busted loud mouthed red head came along. We've all seen that a thousand times.

Once again a flute playing, post whore makes my point.
Crowton can't push a button and give JJ maturity and game experience. It takes time thus the reason for the weak offense this year.
Give LSU Mallet, and Tigers are probably undefeated this year, and Crowton is a genius.

WTF? How does it prove your point when it proves you are incorrect in stating that mallet and jj have started the same amount of games?

While I'm not sure of Jefferson's number of starts and games played in, here are Mallett's.

He played in 11 games as a true freshman at Michigan, starting 3(all wins) for the injured Chad Henne. He's started all 11 games at Arkansas this year. So his total number of games played in is 22 with 14 starts.

Mallett and Snead are not student/athletes as they transferred solely because of Athletics and not Academics.

On the other hand LSU has the youngest student/athlete QB in the conference.

If this doesn't make LSU the underdog in the game, prove it.

Compare JJ has started 10 this year and two last year

So pretty comparable in terms of SEC experience. At least JJ has played against Arkansas and has some knowledge of what our defense is like.

I remember in the game last year worrying every time he dropped back that he was going to run it all the way for a touchdown. I know this hasn't been the type of season that LSU fans are accustomed to, but JJ and Lafell still make me nervous. Seeing how many big plays we've given up, they could have a field day.

Sorry, but we will not have a good qb next yr, JJ is not the answer & the coaching is not helping!

Jordan, at 19 years old, has 14 TDs and 5 INTs.

JaMarcus, at 20 years old, had 15 TDs and 9 INTs.

JR also had a consistent running game and good coaches surrounding him (in what was Les Miles' best year of coaching mind you). JR turned out pretty well in college, no?

JJ has played very well this season despite being on his arse half the time and having zero coaching. You're an idiot.

All I know is with a little bit of coaching, we should finish no less then 20-4 the next two years.

Despite losing 3/4th of our DLine and LB corp, one starting CB, one maybe two Ss

2 RBs, 1 WR, 1 TE, and 1 OT?

Jefferson is not a bad quarterback. In SEC games, he has a completion percentage second to only Tebow and as many passing TD's as Tebow with fewer interceptions. He needs some work, but I think he will be a much better QB next year if he receives some coaching. You can find the stats here:

Who's the best SEC QB?

Great, now I'm even more depressed. Means two more years without an SEC championship or trip to the BCS.
