Bo Bahnsen and the LSU Compliance Department routinely interpret rules disadvantageously for LSU Football. They don't have to do it this way. They choose to do it this way.
In today's collegiate athletics landscape, a Compliance Office can work in a complimentary, congruent path with the football program, or they can work against the grain.
LSU Compliance decided for the latter.
english mother fricker....do you speak it?

You should want the Compliance Department to be overbearing and particular. I know it's a pain in the butt. I don't like having to jump through bureaucratic hoops in my job either.
But an overbearing Compliance Department means athletic programs that don't get in trouble. Miami, Ohio State, Alabama, Penn State, USC, and also Kentucky, Michigan and Memphis basketball. Big programs that had a Compliance Office that worked "in a complimentary, congruent path with the program."
If you have a problem with the rules, go complain to Mark Emmert. But the rules are the rules, and I don't want my Tigers, in any sport, to get sanctioned by the NCAA because the Compliance Office decided to be nice.

Wow, using the C word is so unacceptable I can't believe you are even capable of being such a classless loser. I think she is a total enemy of football and am not a fan of hers, but she is a 20 year emloyee of LSU and a letter winner and graduate of LSU and mother of 4. For that she deserves respect and while I do disagree with much of what she does I respect what she gives to the university I love. If I sound arrogant fine, but you should be banned...forever....

I'm far from an NCAA hater, but the biggest issue most people have with them is their lack of consistency in enforcing their rules. There is no actual set x violation = x punishment guidelines.
this is the issue

Nice post foshizzle. As much as our Compliance Dept may be a pain in the rear, without them we would not be enjoying our recent (last 10+ years) success. Recruiting not to be excluded. Someone has to independently hold all of our student-athletes and coaches in check and I enjoy the hell out of watching premier athletes. Geaux Tigers.

Stuckinthe90s, that was a great post, well thought out and you make some good points. My experience (sounds like you have more direct knowledge) is that the compliance team is too hard and non cooperative with football and a few others. Of course I want people to help the sports and athletes abide by the rules (rules are rules) but by all accounts I believe the people who run our team are arrogant and self serving, my issue is not with going by the rules or using ERM practices to oversee compliance...it is the way these individuals behave. Guess we agree to disagree...
