To be honest it was a disgusting class for safeties. If I declared, I might have gone in the 1st round.

I'll admit that I haven't followed certain things enough, but I'm not sold that LSU is above and beyond the rest when it comes to defensive back talent and development.

Absolutely.

Perhaps?! I don't give a crap about halfbacks though.

Alabama can compete with anyone when it comes to linebacker and secondary talent and development.

f I'm not mistaken, LSU literally has the most defensive backs in the NFL of any school.

That may be true, but what does that have to do with programs at this moment? I struggle to understand how this means that LSU is definitively the best right now.

On top of that, LSU could actually lose two games(Georgia & Ole Miss) and still win the BCS chip.

You've got to be kidding me. Please tell me that the smiley means you're not serious.

That's what y'all claim. Yet every recent Bama LB has looked about average in the league. Nothing really special. Some below average.

While we have John Chavis. His resume includes Perry Riley, Kelvin Sheppard, Kevin Minter, Cutrera at LSU and Jerrod Mayo, Kevin Burnett, Marvin Mitchell, and Parys Haralson.

Chavis' players have had better NFL careers and he's had more LB's drafted than Saban.

Though the only and true LBU is probably Penn St.

Are you joking? Bama fans hyped them up to be the most NFL ready LB's ever in college football. Hightower had about 60 tackles. Same for Upshaw, who took over for Suggs and only got 1.5 sacks in a system set up for getting lots of pressure from the OLB spots. The hype didn't match the production. They looked like average LB's even though Bama/Saban are supposed to be a LB factory.

How about Rolando McClain. He's had a great career. What about Nico Johnson, who they claimed was a 1st round lock. Then dropped to the 4th round.

Saban has a great college system, but his players almost always need way more development in the NFL. Dre Kirkpatrick not even knowing how to backpedal. Kareem Jackson needed 3 seasons to become average. Mark Barron was abused in coverage for the majority of his rookie year and on top of that he missed tackles that should be second nature to him.

Point is all these players have big potential. But hardly any have been NFL ready from the get-go. Which is one of the biggest claims by Bama proponents.

You think this is a discussion about who has the best secondary in the country right now? Wow, no. This is about who consistently produces the most talent at defensive back. That distinction goes undisputedly to LSU.

And if you still don't get it, recent accomplishments include 1st-round draft picks at DB three years running, back-to-back Thorpe winners, a Heisman finalist, and 2 AAs that were in the same backfield.
