Correct. And he was fired.

So why wouldn’t O be fired as well if he has similar results AGAIN, for the third year in a row??

Just because they're old, wrinkly and are now hanging around your knees doesn't mean they're big.

I kid, I kid.

For starters, he was 6-2 last year. Saban and miles had a combined 3 seasons between them better than that, I believe.

“February 4 in 2015”

Glad to see you recognize when Coach O’s responsibility for our DL recruiting/play began and the fact he is not some innocent bystander.

“ has done an amazing job”

In 2015 LSU had the third best rush defense in the SEC. In 2016 LSU had the second best rush defense in the SEC. In 2017 LSU had the third best rush defense in the SEC.

If LSU improves their rush D this season, I will give him lots of credit when it happens.

I didn’t give Nick credit for things before they happen, I didn’t give Les credit for things before they happenrd, and I’m not going to give Coach O credit before we see the rush defense even play their 1st game.

I’ve been waiting for LSU football to return to their elite status since 2012. It didn’t happen in miles last years and it hasn’t happened since he’s been gone.Others can jump up and down about the recruiting or transfer players. Nothing wrong with that, but I have gone into a I believe it when I see it mode.

So you’d say 2006 and 2017 were basically the same huh?

No response to your idiotic questions. I already told you why I mentioned the staff. Now you are going back and implying shite and then asking a ridiculous question based upon your moronic implication.

With 5 wins over fired/interim coaches. And lost TO TROY.

Not asking him to do better than that. Just do it again.

Saban matched that twice in five years after taking over a team that hadn’t gone bowling the previous two seasons.

Les matched or beat that record SIX TIMES in 11 seasons.

Hadn’t reached that mark his final three seasons, when the SEC was as strong as it had ever been.

AND HE WAS FIRED.

And no other 6-2 or better SEC team at LSU under Saban or Miles lost to an OOC opponent. Certainly not one from the fricking Sun Belt.

Had O simply not suffered a historic defeat at homecoming, I wouldn’t have a negative thing to say because we would have been 10-2 and likely playing in a NY6 Bowl for the first time since the CFP.

See, ALL the games count, and losing an OOC game kind of puts a damper on your chest puffing about our conference record.

Were both teams 6-2 in the sec?

Did lsu win the west in 2006?

Did lsu win the sec in 2006?

Just asking, I can't remember back that far.

Were OOC games played both years? Are those not comparable?

Which bowl game was each invited to?

Final ranking of each team?

Again, only 3 times in the past 17 years has an lsu coach had a better record that 6-2 in the sec. Hell, you could probably say the last 30 years.

That said, give the guy a chance this year. That means quit your whining and bitching and get on board....or GTFO. Either way, if he fails, fire his arse.

So fire him if he doesn’t go 6-2 in the SEC??

Ok, we’re on the same page then

I just can't support this. My purple and gold blood will always hope that the off season changes are successful and LSU has a great year.

Try to remember this the next time you get all high and mighty and say you have never seen ONE PERSON on the board ever say this. And then ask for proof.

Non responsive babbling. Again.

ETA: Top of page reminder for this deflecting thread

quote:

Ultimately this whole thing is much ado about nothing.

If O beats Florida in 16, we’re in the Sugar Bowl and everyone is happy.

If he beats Troy last year he is at 10 regular season wins and possibly another NY6 Bowl and again everyone is happy, even with the blowout to MSU and another loss to Alabama.

But this stupid DL deficiency is nothing but an attempt to distract from the fact that only two losses in games we absolutely had more than enough talent to win is what has kept this team from achieving what O was hired to achieve, get us back to 10 wins and NY6 Bowl contention (not even holding him to the championship criteria Alleva proclaimed in his introduction).
