Don't know if I agree with this statement. Right before Texas won the title in 2005, people in Texas were talking seriously about whether Mack needed to go because he couldn't win the big one (he was like 1-5 against Stoops to that point). And they really hated their OC, Greg Davis, who happens to still be there too. Funny that they're both former Green Wave head coaches, but I digress. Even to that point, Texas had been averaging 10 wins a season under Mack, but that wasn't good enough. I know because I have lived in Texas since 1998.
