Well if Les Signed 25, and 5 didn't qualify, while an important position like QB was part of the fallout or whatever..the fans would be saying Miles was stupid because he didn't anticipate that happening.

This can easily be avoided, which is why your argument is laughable. Simply put, recruit kids that have their shite together and not players that didn't take care of business. Take a couple of risks here and there and no 5-8 risks.

You are going to have to lose 15 players if you sign and bring in 25 a year anyhow. Basically instead of cutting players to make room, you'd, I don't know, actually let those kids develop and have a legit shot.

In the end, my point is every coach would have those same limitations, so people would learn. Most LSU fans were fine with Sentimore and Lacy not getting offered based on being risks, so I don't see why they'd care now. Only reason it became a big deal was that both made it in and went to Bama.

What?

JJ and Lee have 2 more seasons

Then you have Zack Lee coming in who is probably better than all 3 right now..

I had high hopes of Garrett too

And he has no guarantee that he'll get that scholarship in January. He was told he'd have one in August and didn't especially seeing as they already going to need to cut at LEAST 10 players as of now to get the commits we have for 2011 to date.

this just isn't realistic IMO. it's an unfortunate situation but only recruiting fully qualified recruits is not practical.

Well it's a fine line..

Craig Loston almost didn't get in on time for example...

Keland Williams another.... You don't not hold a spot for guys like this..like I said, maybe you oversign 1 or 2

I think Miles has done a good job in recruiting.

He had to make some tough phone calls recently..as all our recruits made it in..which is good news

And it's fine to take that risk on 1, 2, even 3 potential players. That doesn't mean you oversign. Say you took a risk on Loston, you still have 24 signed if he doesn't make it.

Fact of the matter is every coach would have to live with these rules and you CAN do it.

Even if you sign 22 a year since 3 don't make it annually, you are still at 88 not including 5 year players. So, it makes coaches actually recruit better by focusing on the kids that will be there for you instead of taking on too many projects.

Miles has definitely done a good job recruiting, but he has left the team with holes with poor recruiting at certain positions be it recruiting busts, stupid kids, or guys that weren't qualified. The OL and DL the past couple of seasons are evident of that.

That said, it holds EVERY coach to that limit, so I don't see the problem.

Well, that makes it a big deal. If one or both of them contribute to an Alabama win over LSU, people will say it.

Now they will, yes, but assuming that the rule I stated was in place, Saban likely doesn't offer those 2 since he'd be limited to 25 LOI's PERIOD!

That's the point.

Cause it's fairly obvious you're just looking for a reason to hate on Miles. You think Bama fans are downin Saban for over signing?
