How did Saban do with Rick Clausen and Marcus Randall? How about Craig Nall?
Rick Clausen never was the starting QB under Jimbo/Saban. Offense was better under Randall than under Lee/JJ, the two QB's they have developed together.
Jimbo was the last real QB coach LSU had. Every problem with the QB's can be traced back to his last QB (Flynn) leaving

Again bmy...fair point. But the common tread was Fisher, not Miles or Saban.
Which would hint at the issue being Crowton
It's his fault for keeping Crowton around though. Unless he's simply not allowed to get rid of him because it costs to much.

The fact that there is no improvement in game 12 from game one, in the last two years, you bet its the head coaches fault. Crowton may be the problem, Les is the coach.
If Miles doesn't do something DURING this season to correct the problem, any criticism and calling for Miles to be fired will not be unfair.

I'd lump Miles in with the group containing Mack Brown, Stoops, and Tressel. Below the group containing Meyer and Saban.
- Since Brown got Texas rolling, he has yet to not have a 10 win season
-Stoops has six conference titles and has never had had back to back seasons where he didn't win 10 ball games
Tressel also has six conference titles and has also never had back to back seasons where he failed to get 10 wins.
Sorry, but Miles ain't in that group.

Well Miles can't seem to beat them lately either, so what does that matter?

Roger,Lee's offense better than Randall's.
When are you going to be specific about this average coaching label you're so quick to toss out.Would Bama have won MNC with JJ at QB?

They all have NCs. That puts him in one of the top two tiers whether you like it or not.
1) The best of the best
2) The champions
3) the winners

Larry Coker has a national title. Does he belong there?

GTFO
you mean larry coker, who was fired by miami, is a tier 2 coach???
Posted on 7/13/10 at 2:26 pm to Bernie Moore
Roger,Lee's offense better than Randall's.
Randalls only season as THE starter, he split time with JR because Jimbo/Saban knew he was average. That season, LSU lost two regular season games. I am going to say you are dead wrong.

Didn't see much improvement out of Jones at OU or Barkley at USC.
What should the coaches be doing to help JJ understand the game?

All coaches become washed up eventually. Look at Spurrier.. the game has passed him by. Fired or not, it doesn't change the fact that he won it all. He didn't suck until after he had success, right?
No shitty coach has ever won a national championship.

Prove it! You keep avoiding how you know the coaching is average?
