Humbly,I believe he was referring to the 161 points LSU gave up in the last 6 games of 2002 (little under 27/game)

We had that game won. He didn't need any more reps. I do blame Saban for this. It was the 6th game of the season, and LSU was 4-1 going in and DOMINATED FLA AT FLA. Randall had a great game against South Carolina the next week ONLY cause THEY didn't know what was coming. BUT the next week AU kicked some LSU arse. ALL because Mauck got hurt in a game he should have been out of.

I think I just slipped into an alternate, parallel dimension. The "dukke v" here has a goatee.

I think Hitchcock's point (and forgive me if I mis-characterize) was that "No" Mauck wasn't playing in those games, but that he also does not play defense.

Do you even realize how a SABAN coached team works???? MAUCK in charge in 2002 avg over 35 PPG. When he got hurt the O suffered bad. The key to a Saban offense is time of possesion and keeping the other O of the field. Randall could not do this. What other choice did Nick have??????

The defense gave up 28 points/game over the last 6 games of 2002. That is a fact. You have attributed the losses and struggles in the back half of the season to the loss of Mauck. While I agree that the loss of the starting QB (much as the team lost the starting QB prior to 2008) can result in losses, it can't completely explain a defensive meltdown at the end of 2002 (which did happen, I didn't just make that up. I was at the Bama game in person.)

Rocket - I thought I had him processing for a second. He blamed Saban for something. Then I threw some math at him and Hitchcock asked if Mauck played defense and I think his head spun around too quickly.

Let's watch...

Are YOU really comparing this???? WOW.

YOU still don't get it. The D suffered cause the O couldn't CONTROL the ball after Mauck got hurt. Its pretty simple. NOW I will say that LSU MAY have lost to BAMA but not like that. THis team before Mauck got hurt was on FIRE. It was playing SABAN BALL. He needs a QB that can manage a game. Randall could not do that. That took away from the D.

(Imagine me saying this:) It was playing MILES BALL. He needs a QB that can manage a game. In 2008 JL/JJ could not do that. That took away from the D.

And MILES didn't have his starting QB all year, and still won 8 games, just as many as Saban (again, a f&cking miracle, and 2 points against Ole Miss from a losing f&cking season).

Does that make sense to you, man?

ETA - If Saban had any kind of heart at all, he would send Devery Henderson and Marcus Randall about 20% of what he makes, because man they pulled his little arse out of the fire on the Bluegrass that day.

If Jarret Lee had the 2009 D. LSU would have won at least 10 games. Bottom line is that YOU do NOT know how football works. ITS OK!!!!!!! Its a chess game dude. If YOU KNOW YOU are BETTER, make the OTHER team make adjustments. THINK ABOUT IT!!!!!!!!!!!
