Yeah, the heat of the moment does not give way to introspective thought. But later that evening or the next day, did you think to yourself, we should not have been in that position? Did you possibly think or discuss with a friend(?) that LSU should not have been kicked in the mouth for most of that game by a clearly inferior team?
Miles has made me question his abilities to prepare this team on so many occasions that I am not convenced that he is the right guy for the job. Simple as that.

I could not agree more with you if you take last season as your only input to the performance of the coaching staff. If you go back a couple years before that, the first game of 09 should have made you a little more nervous.

It met my expectation. LSU's final record was precisely where I thought it would, never expected the team to compete for the SEC West after seeing problems in '08.
Unreal expectations lead to irrational responses. LSU's season last year was precisely as I expected it to be.

Fair enough, I really expected the team overall to be better than in 08 and the first game gave me a bit of heartburn. I really thought the offense would be okay after the UW game, so I was not prepared for how anemic it ended up being throughout the season.
Frankly, my expectations for this year are set fairly low. I think LSU will win 8 games, but struggle with more of the Miles factor...clear lack of preparation, discipline and numerous game day blunders.
