The thing is...I love this team, I love this school and I'll fight until my dying days and last breaths for them.
I'm not blind, I can see there are issues this team faces...and yes, that includes the clock management of a year ago. Just like many others I was seething after that debacle but NOT ONCE did I come on here and say fire Miles...he's a bumbling idiot...blah blah blah.
We have a great team and I'm just tired of all the negativity. Every. Single. Day. Day in and day out. Most of the people on here are exhausting. I don't know how they keep up with such negativity in their lives.
Me, I choose to support my team and school and hope for the best for them. I'm passionate and want them to stomp the living shite out of opponents but if they win by one point....well...a win is a win. I don't give a shite what anyone else says.
Miles is the coach for the foreseeable future....let's see how he does and if this team goes in the tank...then it's time to reevaluate and find someone else to coach

He hasn't been bad enough to fire, for sure. This year could be pretty important though, in determining the direction of the program.

I agree.

I have NEVER called him stupid Nor could I do his job. I just don't like the direction the team is going. And for $4 mil a year I should get better results.
As the administrator of the LSU football program, he is no different than an executive in any organization. He basically has two job requirements. The first is to establish a strategy for the team (organization) and hire a staff that is able to adhere and deliver on that strategy. Second (especially in recent years), he must be the spokesman of the organization and articulate the status and direction of the organization.
Let's face it, he was dealt a pretty stacked deck, so his strategic capabilities leaves much to be desired as the program has clearly declined over time (not to mention his track record for hiring assistants...possible exception: Chavis).
For this, I would give him at best a D.
I don't guess I need to go too far to prove his lack of abilities in the second of his duties.
Grade: D- (just to be nice)

So, you think that if McElroy went down and AJ was thrown to the wolves before he's ready.. and lead his team to an 8-9 win season and as a result AJ gets hurt/shell shocked.. You think that Phillip Simms could step in and perform? Or do you think you would see a similar result to the Lee/Jefferson fiasco?
I guarantee you if that scenario happened this season, Alabama would still not give up 50+ points twice during the season and have a losing record in conference play.

WTF, every time there is a Miles thread, shite goes to like 10+ pages. What is this obsession with Miles people?

Offense was better under Randall than under Lee/JJ, the two QB's they have developed together.
It was better, statistically, in 2004 when Randall was a senior and he had JR backing him up. They averaged 28 points/game that season. In 2002, when Randall was a redshirt sophomore, the offense ended up with the same average in scoring offense that our offense did this year.
Let's keep it real, results really don't have anything to do with the Anti-Miles faction on the board.

would love to hear you explain further.

I'm highly unconcerned with what you would love to hear.

Can anyone recall a moment last season in a game where you said , "damn, Les Miles is damn good coach?"

Anyone who hopes LSU has a losing record this year just because they hate Miles and wants him fired is no LSU fan.
I for one hope he wins the West and has a great season, and then gets offered the HC job at Michigan and leaves! Am I an LSU fan now?

I don't know but at least you don't really deny that your disdain for Miles has nothing really to do with results.

so it is impossible to not like miles based on the team's recent performance over the last two years? people who don't like him just do it because he talks funny?

Yeah, there is a difference, Parnell, but because you work at the Dollar General as a manager and because of the fact that you are not a football guy, you fail to realize that yards don't matter as much as points.
