My point is that if Shep is to step up and be a "Go-to" receiver, he needs to sharpen his route running and be in proper position to help his QB have a good target to throw to.
Certainly but as stated above you're not going to beat your man every play. QB can't throw that pass.

Can someone put a link of the int?

That's my exact point. He never even worked/fought to get inside. I watched the play several times. From the moment he came off the line he never even tried to get inside position. He let the corner dictate his route.
You know some times defenses cut off a receivers route? You really expect Shep to get inside the corner when he was playing inside him from the snap?
Show me multiple plays where Shep doesn't get open and I'll agree with your point. But to pick one play where a defender was playing underneath Shep is not a legit criticism.

I'm confident Shep will turn it around this year.
I hope you are right but he has not shown much natural instinct as a receiver to date. I'd always hoped he would be a good slot receiver like Skyler was early in his career but it hasn't happened.

You're also not considering that Shep's route was simply a clear out to get the safety out the way and put the receiver at the top the field in one on one.

I don't think his route was a clear out at all. A seam route running the same depth as the outside receiver is not a good clear out.

I'm sorry, I don't have time to pour through thousands of minutes of game film. Noticed on this play he didn't even try to get inside and made that point.

Play starts at the 3:15 mark. CB is playing off at the snap. Shep immediately runs down the field and never tries to get inside the CB.
Come on man

6 is my favorite number and was my baseball number in HS.
Do I know you?

QB misread the defense and made a poor throw. It was literally impossible for Shep to get inside the defender on that throw.
Also you do know that it not always a receivers job to get inside a corner on that route? A lot of times he's suppose to go over the top. You can't possibly look at that play and place blame on the receiver

Not concerned with that. Concerned with Shep's route running at WR and think that this one play may show why he hasn't excelled there despite all of his athleticism. Maybe I'm wrong and that's cool. Anyone else got a better explanation why he hasn't progressed?

Sort of, we chatted up here when you were doing Jdam trials on the 52. I think even as far back as your flight training.

like those catches against UK where he bailed Lee out on questionable throws?

unless of course, you only wanna bitch about Shep, then disregard this.

BUFF's are cool. Can't find you in the clouds when you attack Belle Glade.

Yeah, sorry that's been a long time and too many beers ago. Yes, I still love the BUFF. I'm working in the test community now so I get to check out all the new toys/gadgets before they get to the field.

As in Belle Glade, FL? I don't think BUFFs have flown much down there in years. Used to use the Avon Park range, but not so much anymore.
