He is this years Ron Brooks. Will be a top 5 round pick, yet he is behind 2 superstars.

More complete than Mingo maybe. But Mingo has a much higher ceiling because of his athleticism. Also, other teams have more respect for Mingo because of last seasons production. I've seen three people blocking Mingo on pass plays. He is almost guaranteed two blockers on every down. Him being such a threat opens things up for the other DL.

This is not a criticism of Edwards but how is he a more complete DE , other than size when compared to Mingo?

PS - isn't this an excellent problem to have -boohoo we have too many good DEs

He is better against the run than Mingo. Im not saying hes a more complete DE, just different skill set.

He is a more prototypical DE - different but not better. In the end it is results that matter and Mingo has delivered that.

Mingo will be a 3-4 olb on the next level. He will play a
Demarcus Ware role in the nfl.

agreed. very underrated but having a year that's quietly been better than mingo and no less than on-par with sam.

I think he has taken advantage of Mingo/Sam getting double teams. Just goes to show how deep this line is!

no offense but can't see mingo as a top 10 pick. i don't care if he is double teamed often, the production is not there so far this year. 1st round-ok, top 10- no.

Lavar has played well. Even if he doesn't get to the ball carrier he has caught the eye of OC's to protect against. He needs to do a better job of wrapping up and bringing his guy to the ground. He likes to sling them down and not go down with the tackle. But so far he is playing extremely well. We'll need him saturday
