With all the media hype leading into this weekends showdown, especially in regards to noise level, I imagine there had to be some kind of decibel meter inside the stadium. Anyone know anything about this? I heard our record was 128 db but I don't see how last night during the "ijump" it couldn't have been surpassed.

It wasn't as loud as Alabama (08) or Florida (07) in my opinion. The loudest it got was when UF started out their first drive in front of the student section.

I thought the pregame was close if not louder then first drive. it cooled off because we couldnt put any points on the board but i thought it was really really loud at times. was wondering about the noise levels earlier also

It was insane for Florida's first drive when they were inside the 10. Everybody was standing and yelling.

It was definitely the most consistent noise level we have had in a while, but does anyone have an actual reading?

I'm in the north endzone, and I always love it when the entire south endzone gets up and gets rocking. But outside of a couple of times early it didn't look like the south endzone was into it like they usually are.

agreed
doubt it was louder than UF '07. CBS said it reached 130 on the decibel reading that year. UF's first series in the north endzone was the loudest point from where i was.

UGA 2003. The whole game, the whole stadium was loud - not just the student section and not just in spurts. I honestly dont think any game can get louder than that. JMO

I couldn't talk for two days after Georgia '03. But last night was the most energy I've ever seen during the pre-game.

it was definitely loud, but I think the TD in '07 auburn and the last 4th down in the UF game in '07 were louder. it did quiet down at times.
started yelling at some clown for booing jordan in the student section when it was quiet. kinda funny how everyone around the guy turned on him.

just what i read...

During the October 6, 2007 game against the University of Florida, CBS recorded 130 decibels, thus making it the second loudest collegiate stadium in the country, behind Husky Stadium in Seattle, Washington.

the loudest point of the night had to be when the uf players went and jumped up and down near midfield before the game.

When UF was backed way up into the student section on the first drive...that shite was loud. Perfect example of noise causing penalties for an offense.

I was in the front row of the student section, and while I can't vouch for any other section than the student one, I have to say I was impressed.

The south endzone always does a great job though. Great fans there, probably trying to compensate for that huge fricking visitors section they stick there.

Yeah, I was in the student section for Bama 08 and UF 07, and when UF started their drive down by the student section, I remember the noise level got up there big time for one or two snaps before that play where Urban called a TO.

It was pretty loud when they announced the USC loss to Stanford in 07. Was that Florida?
