scott went from 5 carries a game to being a 20+ guy with most of the blocking duties on passing plays. He wore down and was hurt. We had better options than him at that point and Les refused to go to them.

I said Les goes with the RB with the hot hand. I never said he doesnt stop using him when he cools off.

wow
Please point out fault in that post? Did that not happen exactly as I stated?

Ok here we go.

Les has preached since ariving on campus that the back with the hot hand will be the one getting the carries. That's within the game we're talking about. so against UK when Scott was torching their D in the first half he, according to Miles stated philosophy should have gotten a healthy dose of the ball in the second half. But he didn't get back in till Hester could hardly walk anymore.

This year when the increased work load got to Scott and KW was running great he should have gotten a lot of carries because he had the hot hand.

Same goes for games when the Holliday runs work. he should be getting more than the 1-2 in the gameplan if the other team hasn't adjusted yet.

Murph doesn't count, because he's never had the hot hand.

it was both

so, your point was that miles always goes with the hot hand unless that hand is cold then he sticks with it anyway? Clearly that makes sense.

It just seemed to me later in the year that keiland had finally started to hit the hole quicker, which is what he lacked early in the season.

Ridley is really a mystery to me...since he's the 4th/5th back used but seems to absolutely bust through the line. I don't pretend to know what goes on in practice...plus ridley has really only played in garbage time, but he seems to be a combination of keiland and scott: big back who has a great burst. Scott's great, don't get me wrong...but ridley seems to have more athleticism as far as cutting ability instead of north/south.

I agree....I was saying Scott had the hot hand when he started using him almost exclusively. He should have started using another back when he started looking bad. He didnt.

That I 100% agree with

it's mostly because Ridley is running over and around Tulane's second team.

Scott looked the same way in garbage time his first few years, and it's why Murphy looks great going against our walk ons in the spring game.

Which is why I prefaced by saying he's only been seen in garbage time.

I'm just talking about the way he runs...which is real hard with good cutting ability. Now, whether or not he can do that against the better sec teams will remain a mystery unless he gets playing time.

Miles goes with the hot hand at the beginning of the season and that was Scott.
I didnt mean to imply he goes with the hot handed runner each game. He just stuck with Scott at the end of the season which i disagreed with.

Unless you run like a fullback, Les will not give you more than 5 carries

So you think Scott runs like a full back?

miles likes big backs. no doubt about that. i really like kw. i always say "all kw does is...score touchdowns." i mean that every time he touches the ball good things happen. i would like to see him get a lot more touches.

but then he ceases to pick the "hot hand"

you can't use "hot hand" if the back is sucking
