mullen can't hold miles' jock. miles has a NC and a couple of SEC championships. the best record in college football over the last 7 or 8 years and you compare him to a guy who just won his first sec west game
Mullen took over Moo U.

Miles took over a top-10 team that was a year removed from a BCS Title.

Might not be able to hold his jock when it comes to personal records and SECC, but i doubt Miles and hold Mullens jock when it comes to coaching. I know Id rather Mullen as our coach, thats for sure.

'08 did have some D attrition also, beside Malveto problems.
You gotta understand the injuries have made the OL a shell of last year.

Losing 2 OL is major and compares to '09 minus Herm and Helms. Black and Hitt were ok in their group, but failed on an island.

....and won a NC in 2007......then went 13-1 with an SEC Championship in 2011.

We get it. You're blinded by delusional resentment of the man.

Dinardo and Hallman did the same.

I follow MSU more closely than probably anyone on this board, and I have a feeling you are talking out of your arse.

Actually, they took the next step when the other coach got there. Cant remember his name all but I do know hes a man and hes 40.

But Miles did win a NC, even though we were a 2 loss team that was lucky as hell to get to the natl champ(thanks LeSean McCoy) and playing with players that were developed by Saban and Jimbo Fisher.

Fortunately we still had some Saban/Fisher coached players.

That title was as indicative of Miles' coaching ability, as Switzer's Super Bowl ring.

I give Miles lots of credit for hiring Chief. Chavis is the reason Miles is still the coach at LSU.

No, and almost no one on here does. However it is easy to see something is not working and hasn't been working for some time now. Nothing is getting done about it. and it is frustrating.

Miles walked in to a ready built program, Mullen walked into a shite hole.

"Better coach" is all relative. Miles does a good job at keeping a program humming along. I think many fans are happy to reward Miles presently and in the future because of past success, but in the SEC things don't work that way

I think he does some things very well, others I have questions about but it will be much more clear at the end of the season.

What did the program look like when they got here?

Miles has the about where it was when he got it, with tons more dysfunction.

Dinardo and Hallman did that, too.

I HIGHLY doubt I know more about football than Les Miles.

That said, the question is how knowledgeable is HE compared to HIS peers. And having knowledge for the sake of knowledge means little if you don't apply it.

MANY of the same posters on here that feel that Miles is above receiving criticism by fans because they may not be more knowledgable, probably are the same ones that have a mouthfull to say about Saban.

They may not like Sabans methods or his personality but its OBVIOUS he knows football. Maybe those negative aspects of Sabans personality is whats needed to build programs and win consistently. Maybe not, but by the OP thinking, nobody can criticize Saban unless they know more about football than he does.

Actually no im not. And i follow MSU pretty close also. I know what i see when i watch them play. Inferior talent level than most of the SEC teams, but the product is always better than the talent. Mullen develops the average players he gets into damn good football players. When i watch us play I see players that ooze talent, but the product is never as good.

So we're back to this argument. That's my cue to leave and avoid arguments with you guys in the future.
