Let me help you once more
The only conclusion I've come to is that neither Guy is significantly better than the other and I'm pretty that is the majoritys opinion

But you refuse to admit that Jefferson, based on actual play, has been better than Lee, even if not by a significant margin (which is debatable.)

Ronnie Lott said it the best "just cause you are good at practices doesn't formulate to great game play" or was it Joe Montania

Im sure i'll get hammered for this but
I think JL gives us the best opportunity b/c even counting his beloved pick 6's, he still can, what do you call that thing, oh yeah, move the fricking football. I'm sorry, but JJ in the UGA game in 08, we'd have lost by more than the 14 points JL spotted them b/c the defense was god awful but hey, JL still put up 38 on them. JJ wouldn't have ever come close to that. The UF loss last year wasn't bad score wise, but did you honestly ever feel that we would win that game while watching it? I'd rather the pick 6's than a QB who constantly runs into sacks and looks clueless on the repeated option calls.

2008 Rushing Offense:
Ranked #39 in the Country. 2,168 yards on 495 attempts for an average 4.4 yards per carry and an average of 166.8 rushing yards per game.
2009 Rushing Offense:
Ranked #84 in the Country. 1,596 yards on 435 attempts for an average of 3.7 yards per carry and an average of 122.8 yards a game.
It may not make all the difference in the world, but it does make a substantial difference.

#5 is about the start of the "and others" list.

Awesome, another JJ vs JL thread. Ugh.
I'll say it again for the millionth time....THE most important stat in a football game, right after the score, is one thing:
turnover ratio. You hold on to the ball, and the opposing team turns over the ball, you will more than likely win the game. It's true on every level of football, even pop warner. Anybody who has coached, played, or participated in team sports will tell you this. shite, even in the NBA, it's still a decent barometer.
JJ doesn't turn the ball over as much as JL. That's a fact. I believe, imo, JL actually has better tools, but JJ is better suited for the job simply because of turnover ratio. It takes him longer to go through progressions, sure, but JL makes BAD decisions, whereas JJ sometimes makes NO decision. You take the lesser of two evils and keep going.
So this bullshite about JL or JJ, which one is better, is ridiculous. According to turnover ratio, the top stat outside of the score, JJ is better. When JL, if ever, proves he can eliminate the turnovers, then he's better. Otherwise, he's not.
*gets off soapbox*

Cause he sits there and takes sacks instead of throwing the ball. Your teory is flawed by this.

But the team when LEE was starting wasn't 112th in offense. And the 08 offense avg 31 ppg. YES lee made some mistakes but LSU scored enough points in alot of games LSU could have won had they had a half-arse D.

2008 Sacks:
28 for -172 yards

so according to this jibber-jabber, matt schaub is a better QB than peyton manning b/c of less INT's thrown. good to know
Posted on 7/21/10 at 3:09 pm to LSUROCKS52
Schaub:
29:15 ratio - less than 2:1
Manning:
33:16 ratio - greater than 2:1
29:15 ratio - less than 2:1

33:16 ratio - greater than 2:1

Moving the chains and points on the board are all that matters. When LSU's offense can master these two things again, JJ will get more kudos.

Incorrect. With the offense we run, Lee is better suited. Now, if we ran a run first offense, JJ is the man. But Crowton is a pass first, 5 WR formation type offense. Lee is the man for a passing offense, JJ is the man for a running offense. In other words, Crowton is not using the right player for his system.

16>15 meaning higher turnover ratio.
roger, apparently throwing pick 6's is way worse than not being able to move the chains/put points on the board. seems some people would rather us lose 21-0 with no INT's than 28-21 with 1 pick 6. Sure that pick 6 might have cost us the game but 0 points won't win us any.

So I guess we've just thrown the running game completely out of the offensive equation.
People who argue about JL's ability to move the offense are going to pretty shocked by the next statistic. When you compare passing offense in the games where each took significant snaps (meaning not counting games where one would come in in mop up duty and throw 1-2 passes), here are how the numbers break down:
Lee has 2,070 yards in 12 games for an average of 172.5 yards a game and 13 yards per completion.
Jefferson has 2,585 yards in 15 games for an average of 172.3 yards a game and 11.8 yards per completion.
So the difference in the passing games with Jefferson and Lee is 0.2 yards per game in favor of Lee. That's about as close to even as you can get.
This also doesn't take into account that Jefferson has 305 rushing in 15 games and Lee has (-120) rushing in 12 games.
In sum, the idea that Lee moves the offense down the field better than Jefferson is misguided.
