when we start playing someone because of how much we respect him as a person..

This what everyone was saying about the Oakland Raiders over here last year minus the best part

Does this account for the 5 yard hitches that he threw in which LSU recievers ran for the other 5-8 yards after the catch?...

Are you under the impression that receivers simply fell down as soon as the caught a Lee pass in 2008?

quote:

hell at least JL can hit a moving target in stride...it may be for the other team sometimes but hell at least its moving....

Which is it? Jefferson's passes were caught and taken for extra yards or Jefferson can't hit a moving target thereby nullifying yards after the catch?

Enjoy talking outside both sides of your mouth?

quote:

But I thought all of Jefferson's 25 yard plus passes were short passes that the receivers took for extra yards?

quote:

hell put Lee in and let him go...at least that guy knows the play book and we wont have 8 men looking at us in the box...no one respects JJ's throwing...

Teams stacked the box much more in 2008 than they did in 2009. This is not debatable. In fact, in 2009, teams played pass protection first because of our complete lack of running game.

quote:

with Lee you can open up the offense and that takes pressure of the Defense... and vice versa...JJ will never change...if he is the QB we will look like we did last year...your best hope is that lee grew up...and by the looks of him not transfering and staying here and taking it like a man and not running...he's earned my respect...

You could try to be more incorrect in the post. I doubt you would succeed, but you could at least try.

For my money, there is much more "bashing" of Jefferson than Lee on here. Most of it is undeserved.

I think there is too much of it going around, for either QB. There are a few posters who objective about each QB, and that is refreshing.

I think the only thing that is clear is that there is NO clear separation between the two QBs. Miles says one thing, the practice videos show another, and the scrimmages show another.

People keep posting old stats as if that has ANY indication what we should expect this year. Each QB is going into his third season of relevancy and both should be vastly improved. Hopefully thek keep pushing each other for playing time, and hopefully Miles has the audacity to play the best QB despite the ignorant fans that would boo JL or expect mediocrity out of JJ. I do not give a shite who wins the games for us this year.

Unfortunately, a significant amount of Rantards only want to win if JJ is QB or vice versa. That is evident by their biased posts.

Do you have any idea how moronic this statement is? You just compared a HS QB to the starting QB at LSU. It's not even in the same hemisphere.

Ironically, the only time i've ever seen JJ shine was his true freshman year. Watching him laugh it up on the sidelines after screw ups last season because he knew there was no threat to his position wasn't exactly a sign of maturity. It just goes to show that Pete Carroll's (sorry i had to go there) philosophy of competition really brings out the best in players. That and ofcourse promising all true freshman realistic chances of starting if they outperform their counterparts and then actually going through with it starting true freshman season after season really had a huge affect on their recruiting. I wish we would become this aggressive.

Actually, the practice videos, and scrimmages show one thing, and Miles says another. It's like he has some anxiety that he can't deal with by leaving the spot open so he just picks a man and sticks with him.

Ok, I can at least listen to BayTiger's bullshite but that statement is just ri-fricking-diculous. JJ was NEVER "laughing it up on the sidelines" after a screw up. You're toeing a dangerous line with this bullshite fwiw.

I thought the video was from today's practice, no? Fairly certain Zach Lee didn't hit anyone in stride today at the LSU practice facility.
Who was #8 then, he was more accurate than either of the starters.

T.C. McCartney. You should have to be able to identify the QBs before you start bashing them.

bullshite.

We been over this 100 times. We've actually broken down game film. Teams played way off the line last year because they could stop the run with 6-7 in the box.

Lee isn't playing unless Jefferson goes down with an injury - which is very possible.

This.

However, I think we all hope the best QB plays. That said, based on that PRACTICE video, it looks like JJ is the one that is working on improving his deficiencies.

We won't know whether Lee has exorcised his demons until he gets into a real game. The thought of JL going against a big team without being tested against lesser opponents is a recipe for disaster.

I think JJ HAS to be the guy against UNC. Maybe get Lee some solid reps against Vandy or somebody.

He is confusing JJ with Aaron Brooks.

Florida was stopping the run and getting pressure with 3.

Still one of the ugliest games I've ever seen. Jefferson was having to throw into coverage with 6 DBs 75% of the time.

I vividly remember one play when they rushed 3 and got to JJ untouched. The two players that missed him: Ciron Black & Keiland Williams.

The worst pass blocking LT I have ever seen. He back peddles like a pigeon-toed elephant with an inner ear problem.
