Daniel's has gotten better at running the ball and not throwing interceptions since ASU.
Better OL here and just refusing to throw the ball when a receiver isn’t wide open to keep interception numbers down isn’t a good substitute.

Surely you see the dichotomy that is the play of JD5. He is probably the best QB, when he makes the right decision, at running the ball at LSU…ever. However, as a pocket passer, which is required for team success, and he has the receiving corps, he is maybe one of the worst in terms of missed opportunities. It’s his vision & decision making that needs significant improvement. From now on defenses will force him to throw the ball.

Take a look at Harris 2015. Only thing Daniels does better than Harris is run the ball. Was a 9-3 season also.

I say Daniels is a winner. All the crybabies can kick rocks.

He will be what he has been his whole career a runner first and will hit the primary receiver if he is open and that's a stretch at times. I believe Daniels got the most out of himself and helped LSU win the SEC west for BK first year. If LSU is going to go to the next level they need a pass first qb that can distribute the ball to open receivers down the field and if pressured can pick up the first down with his legs. The running game never got off the ground because so many teams knew Daniels was just another running back at QB so they always loaded the box. This is not all on JD the OC could have did a better job with Daniels and the Defense fell apart at the end of the season. If Daniels comes back i just think it will be another year of frustration with him always wanting to run and not get more players involved in the offense.
Agree, unfortunately. I really loved seeing him ball out in the UF, OM, Bama stretch but then that went away. I would love to have an idea why. Was he just in a sublime zone for those games and couldn’t recapture it or was there some nuts and bolts reason? I know about the flu for Arky and wasn’t letting that performance shade things but then ATM and UGA happened too.

It’s not that simple.
Or if it is, then winners win. Ballers ball. Not stand up in the pocket forever and then get sacked or delayed run for a few.
