If he's not eligible, that's one thing, but otherwise, why would the coaches care about a 5th year senior's academics.

Well if he is around 2.3-.5 and gets a 0.0 or something similar for a semester, that would get him pretty close. But I find it hard to believe that someone this close to a degree would piss it away. Stranger things have happened though.

So if he was eligible at the start of the season he will be eligible until his final grades make him ineligible. It's not like people are posting speculation about who will start or who is being offered a scholarship.
People are are posting shite about an LSU player, and as of now, there is little or no substance to it.
As of now, it's just rumors.
And it's rumors that are trashing an LSU player.
I don't think it's appropriate to trash an LSU player's reputation based solely upon rumors.

Yes but there are NCAA eligibility rules that require players to earn I believe 6 credit hours per semester. So say he has a 4.0 and is taking 3 classes if he doesn't pass 2 of the 3 with a C or better he would be ineligible.

To be honest I hate even discussing a kid like this, but there has been a lot of smoke around this. It's not like this started on the rant. Hanigriff brought this up after W. Kentucky. Other players make jokes on twitter about Lee's lack of class attendance. It's out there everywhere.
