Just keep in mind that last year's arse whippin of Virginia Tech helped us into the NC game. Playing big non-conference teams early has the potential to boost us in the poles.

Or we could just play a home and home, and enjoy the campus experience, sort of the way college football is supposed to be.

Never mind, tradition is overrated anyway.

I'd say an LSU-Texas matchup in Jerry's new stadium in 2009 would be freaking sweet

This location would not be a neutral site for LSU.

He said metro area, dumb arse. See above. Metro area is more reasonable to determine the true size/sprawl of a city. Example look at Atlanta. Atlanta metro is huge. Populaion of 5.2 million but it has city proper of only 490,000. Oklahoma city has a proper of 500,000 but only a metro of 1 million. So do you think OKC is bigger than Atlanta, ummm NO. Hope you enjoyed the free lesson dumb arse.

Houston has the 6th largest metro.

1. New York
2. Los Angeles
3. Chicago
4. Dallas
5. Philadephia
6. Houston

The hell with a neutral site. If another team won't play home and home. F em. And by team I mean some team other than a rent a win.

we probably could.. if we didn't have that asinine contract to play tulane each year.

What does Tulane have to do with it??????
Let's stop worrying about the dollar and give the fans what they want. We play N. Texas, App St, and Troy because we can play them home and don't have to play an away game. It's time to give up that bullshite. Let's start playing at least one mid-level team from a major conference home and away. Give up a few dollars. Let's play for the fans and the players....Not the dollar. GREED!

We play 8, sometimes 9 games in the freaking SEC against the best teams in college football already! Why play these other teams? These other teams (USC, OSU, etc.) have to play each other to have a half way decent shedule. LSU plays 4-5 top 15 teams every year. God,, look at UGA's schedule this year. Do you really think they would have scheduled ASU if they knew their schedule wwould be this brutal? So what if we play Tulane, Troy, with a tough OOC every couple of years. Stop crying and enjoy the seasons we have right now cause it wasn't too long ago when LSU football sucked.

I read recently Dallas metro passed Houston metro in population this year. Dallas itself is not big, but when you include it's 54 suburbs, some of which are 2 to 300,000, it get's up there. On the other hand, it's not worth arguing because they are roughly the same size. Historically, Houston has had the edge. Dallas
has only moved ahead withing the past 12 months.
