The problem wasn't losing, we lost to the best team in the nation, it's HOW we lost. The loss sits squarely on the shoulders of Miles, who beyond reason didn't significantly adjust the game plan at all.

The team recognized this and everyone else recognized this, including Alabama who didn't have to adjust much because they saw same failure from Miles with no change. It's not the team's fault, it's not the OC's fault, it's purely Miles' fault.

It's not because we lost that folks are upset, it's *HOW* we lost.

exactly

i can deal with losing, LSU has lost before and will lose again. hell, i can even deal with an arse whipping, that happens.

what i cant deal with is making zero effort to fix anything and quitting. running a FB dive on 3rd & 4 and punting deep in the 4th quarter is fricking quitting

I'll add to that and say not only is it HOW we lost, but WHO we lost to.

Just for a moment, think of this:

LSU was 13-0, en route to what many national media types were concluding was one of the GREATEST seasons of any college football team in history, and would have been able to conclude this run by sticking a fork in BAMA (a team that has traditionally had it's boot on the neck of LSU and the rest of the SEC) coached by our former coach who left us for greener pastures and ended up in BAMA only to get them into this position.

Instead, LSU lays a giant egg and it all falls away.

Absolutely fans are pissed at the HOW (some being more specifically pissed about personal issues while others are simply pissed about more generic things like gameplans, etc) but make no mistake that the WHO is what's twisting the knife.

Bingo, there is no shame in losing, somebody HAS to lose, but if you don't leave it all out on the field, refusing to surrender, then there is a problem.
To me it looked like the offense, the entire offense, including the coaching staff raised the white flag in the second quarter..that just isn't the way it is supposed to be.

I've been called a fool & terribly stupid among other things on here, but the play calling & lack of adjustments are inexplicable, especially in the 4th quarter. Until it can be rationally explained, I'm gonna go with either Miles:

A) Gave up, hence the play calling
B) The play calling was "Damage Control". Didn't want the score to get too bad.

All true. Moroever, at least on this particular night, Saban decisively outcoached Miles and his staff. No objective observer could or would dispute this. Alabama made appropriate adjustments, we didn't. Between the disheartening performance in the national championship game and Saban's success in luring away Louisiana's top recruit, the past week has done much to bolster lingering doubts about the relative merits of Saban and Miles and the future standing of the two programs. That is the wellspring of the current angst. No candid LSU fan wants the program to languish in Alabama and Saban's shadow. And yet that is where we stand today, based on the objective evidence. Alabama has won two of the last three NC's.

pretty much

the guy from tiger rag said it well; it was like leaving a bullet in the clip while your opponent completely unloads his directly into your chest

only we left more than one bullet unused

We were out coached, out played, and didn't look we deserved to be there! At least we are the SEC champs! JJ hadn't played well since the Arkansas game. JL should have gone in the game.
