That’s goaltending but nobody on espn is upset about it
It's the same bullshite all over again. Everybody wants to make excuses for Kentucky and tell part of the truth not the whole truth. ESPN and other sports broadcasting companys should at least tell the entire truth and not only the part that substantiates their excuse. But they don't. If the refs had made the correct call, by rule, the Mays shot would have been called good and UK would have been called for defensive goaltending. But ESPN won't tell the truth. Fricking shame.

Kentucky did something illegal before we did. Tugged on the net which pulled the rim down, and slammed the backboard hard enough to shake the entire goal after Mays had already shot the ball.

But I think it was basket interference.
Kavel did not interfere with the basket, if anything it would be goaltending. Basket interference mean you touch the rim, net or backboard, not the ball. That's basket interference which is what the Kentucky player did. Refs should have called basket interference on the UK player. But no spirts programs will point that out, they will al jump on the bandwagon and say UK got robbed. We live in a society where the whole truth is not told. In our judicial system prosecutors conceal evidence that will exonerate a defendant from guilt. This is just an example of how people won't acknowledge whole truths in order to manipulate the opinions of other people. It's in society, it's in the judicial system, it's in sports and sports reporting. People in our world today lack integrity and honesty.
