They really do not spend their down time on this or other boards. They can make their opinion known where it counts...not on some board.

They understand boards like this either reflect or shape public opinion. Very aware. I spoke to one late Saturday, about the feelings on here that echoed my personal opinion.

His exact words, in reply:

"You are right."

Wow, just wow
not sure what your wow means. You don't believe me that LSU and TAF admins look closely at this site?

No... Not at all... If you lookat the home page there's a thing saying this past 30 days was the most people ever on TD.com

655,000 (something like that) and not all are lsu fans...

Now granted it is a big number but nothing compared to the actual fanbase

I remember a poll a while back that was like 60-40 posi-nega. Likely there are similar polls with the opposite result, depending on who's online.
I think the haters are a bit more fervent in their conviction, where supporters mention faith is dependent on future results.
Imo haters are the most vocal and make it their buisness to jump in every thread and change it to a rant about a player or coach.
i.e.If you're discussing the rules of OS kicks, one will pop in and comment on coaches being idiots for not being ready vs UNC.
I notice most are very fb illiterate and mostly just say "so and so sucks" without real basis. Many are part parrot and just repeat over and over what they've read here previous, i.e. short side option (banghead) is a favorite.
There are some ranters here who can actually break down a play, series, or game and discuss what went awry, but it's less than 5% imo.
Most outsiders seem to be taken aghast at the sentiment allowed on here considering LSU's record over the last 5-10 years.

My housemate is Penn State. And she was SCREAMING at the time during the last minute of the LSU vs Ole Miss game,

WHAT ARE THEY THINKING! she screamed.

Its not just rantards. My housemate is a casual LSU fan, only watches LSU because I do. She is really State Penn and Oklahoma, being from Oklahoma and attended State Penn. There you go.

What was she screaming at the end of the Ohio State game? The Auburn game as Flynn sauntered to the LOS?

Yes, unfortunately it is.

I joined this board to try to keep a positive voice out there, because I was sick of arguing solely with my non ranting friends about Miles.

FWIW, I've changed my tune on him since last year.

The real question should be what do your teams fans think about the Nutt case right about now. Go post stupidity on your own teams board. Are do they have the internet in Mississippi yet?

not even close. This is mainly made up of kids

I agree with this. I have to admit that I'm older than a bunch of posters on this board. My mother is a big fan. Her friends are big fans. I'd say there are at least as many fans her age (over 70) as there are under 25.

There is a large population of older fans who have season tickets and who regularly contribute to LSU and TAF (not just TAF). More than a couple of my friends from school have regular conversations with the higher ups at LSU, including the AD, Miles, the Dean, etc. They have a good handle on the LSU fan base, and they don't read the rant.

What I notice most about conversations I have with these friends is that they rarely have a knee-jerk reaction to a bad loss or a coaching mistake. They are thinking bigger picture all the time. What's best for the university, not just the AP ranking.

The decision makers at LSU are listening to long-term supporters and donors, not the myopic rantings on this board posted by teenagers who have yet to graduate.

In case you are not aware, LSU has been playing football a long time. Citizens of Louisiana have grown up with it year after year and become fans whether they attended LSU or not. I'd say that if you consider all those older fans, of which there are many, you'd have to realize that they outweigh the ranters. Thus, on balance, the posters on this board are not

WRLakers , one of the most insightful post on the board ever. Most of these folks haven't ever had jobs much less run a business or household. Folks who make decisions know better than knee jerking to every emotion. Love to read the board for entertainment but most of these folks make very few decisions of any importance

problem is that we are in a new environment...the peasants, kids, hangers on, and ignorant masses have jumped on the bandwagon and now run it...the university, like most of the NCAA has sold out to the Jerry Springer crowd....99% of the rant posters are grunts workin' for the man....trying to get Les fired is their little buck to the system...LSU is making too much money from the morons buying $100 LSU shirts to stand their ground...

sit back and watch the Circus....it's all really very entertaining once one gets past the tragedy of what we've lost...

cheers!
