BOTTOM LINE:

Our playmakers need to start making plays (eg Chad Jones on Bama QB Parker last year)

Pellini's D was a great D against the run, but only a mediocre D against the spread or pass.

We started going down as soon as the other teams got to see it more than once or twice.

What this Tiger D missed was having Malvetto come in and overhaul the scheme. Instead they tried to keep it the same which was a mistake.
Pelini's D was always overrated. Alot of flaws get masked when you find ways to win games dispite the flaws.

Biggest problem I see this year is the total kaos on D right before the other team snaps the ball.

Dear Pelini,
Please fly off the handle and do something that will get you fired so you can come back.

they didnt play that well under pelini to be honest

Right on.

Everyone acts so shocked how our defense is playing this year. News Flash, they got carved up several times last year too. The truth is LSU's defense has been on a downward spiral since Saban left. Is it the scheme? yes but I think it's mainly the whole attitude and aggression. Pelini really didn't have it, and these 2 guys don't have it either. I don't think we must have the hottest name out there. We just need someone with some balls, who's fire/attitude will be passed down to the players.

We really miss the experience/leadership of Chevis Jackson and Jonathon Zenon who had several important picks last year...
