Whether it is a rule or not - this was the overwhelming reason to keep Georgia out of the 07 BCS championship game and allowed lsu in.

False. No one "let" LSU in. LSU was ranked 2nd in the BCS, AP, Coaches, and Harris Poll. Georgia wasn't even 3rd. They were ranked FOURTH in the AP, Coaches, and Harris Poll, and FIFTH in the BCS standings because the computers had them even lower.

Georgia did not deserve to play for a title and everyone in the country knew it, including Richt who embarassed himself and his school by bloodying his panties all over national television even though his team got BEAT DOWN by three touchdowns by Tennessee.

The only reason anyone gave that clown any airtime is because the media just hates the BCS in general and will give anyone a platform to bitch about it, no matter how ridiculous their rant is.

ETA: And for the record, no, you do not have to win your conference to play for the title. That has never been a rule, and it was NOT added after 2007. That is why many people wanted to see Texas go last year even though they didn't win the Big 12.

Oklahoma in 2003 should settle that argument. They lost in the Big 12 title game, but we still played them in the BCS Championship Game.

Don't forget Nebraska going in 2001, arse beating to CU=title shot=another arse beating!

I say it should that is problem I have with the BCS. If you do have to then why do we play the SEC CG? For the money and also the clear cut Champion of the SEC to represent our Conference in the BCS CG. I believe that all conferences shouldm have to play a CCG in order to be eligable for the BCS CG. If you can not win your conference then how in the hell can you play for the NC. You have to and you must win your conference that is the only way to have a play-off that is proper. That is how all play-offs start in the NFL you win your division you are in the play-off they have two widcards which to me serve know purpose but to knock out the legitament play-off teams. That is also the way all division 2 and division 3 teams do it also.

So to answer your question yes!
