Mahtook is a natural. He did not need coaching.

Not so sure that is true for the rest of the Tigers. Sanchez is the hitting coach. After about three weeks in a slump, he does some one on one with Watkins. Trey did better afterwards at not striking out, but still had some problems with good SEC pitching.

What bothered me most? In the middle of the team slumping, batters were coming up to bat and leaving the bat on their shoulders until after the pitcher had released the ball. This puts a lot less force in the bat coming around to hit the ball. It seemed this went on for two or three games before the strange phenomenon disappeared, for the most part, from the batters box.

I really do believe a more seasoned, proven hitting coach could help this team. Same for pitching coach. Head coaches are more like CEO's and personnell evaluators. It's those assistants and volunteers who work with the players individually who should be improving players once they are at LSU.

Sit him down and play Lowery the rest of the way.

That is really a dumb statement. I am guessing that you didn't play baseball.
