Back in the 70s, I would give anything. The worst day was the day after.

Now, I never let a bunch of 18 to 21 year olds ruin my weekend. Because there is a chance they will and life is too short.

What I do remember was how Bear Bryant made sure that SEC office scheduled LSU always the week after the Ole Miss game. The slimey bastard had the pull and knew that LSU vs Ole Miss was a huge rivalry where the players left everything on the field. Made Bama's job much easier.

I remember the 70's well- Every year was going to be the year we beat Bama, but it never happended. But in those years, there was never any question Bama had more talent. We had some very good teams, but never a 'great' team. Amazing the year we went 9 & 1 Charlie Mac basically talked the team out of a bowl game after they were passed over by ND for the Cotton Bowl. Can you imagine LSU, or for that matter, any team passing up a chance for a bowl game today?? Unthinkable!! Times have really changed. Thinking back also makes we realize how great the 2000's have been for LSU football...I hope this continues, which great recruiting will insure.

Another loss to Arkansas.. That is it. I was willing to give up a loss to AU but that is now out of the question.

I don't want to give away any wins, but I'll take a Bama win anyday. I enjoyed making the game in Bama last year. I sure remember the days of Bama running the wishbone and every play went for 5 to 15 yards. I just wondered how anyone could beat them. I never forgot the very confident fans coming here and it never even dawned on them that they might get beat. A good whooping would add icing on the cake for me. I remembered LSU playing Bama after a loss and know the Bear would kill us to make up for last weeks loss. I'm not donating anything to the cause except old memories.

I'm over 40. I'd give up a win at Florida for a win against Alabama. Losing to Bama would keep LSU out of the SEC title game. A loss at Florida could be rectified. Forget the Bear, losing to Saban 1st visit to Tiger Stadium will sting like the devil. Better not happen.

I have to agree with this. Better to have a loss out of division. Loss to SC would be worth a loss to Bama only if 1- We win by 21 or more or 2- We win on a JPW fumble recovery for a TD with 1 minute left and a 3rd and 5. Either would be beautiful.
