Impossible. Les Miles will never win another division, conference or national championship at LSU, nor will he ever come close (except in his own mind where 9-4 and outside the top 15 is "close" to winning the NC--what a moron). Les Miles will never coach in another BCS bowl for LSU. Les Miles will never again beat Florida or Alabama while coaching at LSU.

The funny thing is that well over 95% of the fan base knows all of the above to be true, but a sizable minority are still too stubborn to admit it.

If you asked every LSU fan one question, and their lives depended on answering it correctly, and the question were:

Which of the following statements is true:

A. Les Miles will turn the LSU program around and win more championships in the future, or

B. Les Miles will not turn things around, the LSU program will continue to deteriorate, and he will be fired in a few years?

How many, with their lives hanging in the balance if they're wrong, would really answer "A"?

I bet not even 1%.

You know next year this spew of yours we'll be forgotten and when proven wrong no one will remember to put a sopt lite on it. You can just play like it never happened.

Some ppl clearly don't get the point. And probably don't want to get the point.

The point is that Wilner is an indicator of LSU losing respect. Living here in Saratoga, CA I have watched Wilner's votes pretty carefully. He favored LSU several times in the last few years when he could have voted as many West Coast voters did. Now all of a sudden he drops LSU out of his 2010 pre-season Top-25. Not good.

Is he a West Coast lamer? Would a West Coast lamer put five other SEC teams in his 2010 pre-season Top 25? So Wilner respects the SEC, but not LSU. Doesn't it get your positiger attention that at least one AP voter thinks there are five teams better in the SEC than LSU? Doesn't this mean anything to you at all?

Sportswriters are not positigers or posiMiles. I'd bet Wilner is representative of AP voters as a group. LSU has lost respect.

exactly.

If Les starts off next year shaky the national media will start to question his coaching ability. And Im not saying this will only happen if we lose games, but if we just look poorly coached again.

It is going straight into the crapper can. A blind man could see it.

Prediction, and feel free to throw it in my face:

LSU will go 6-6 next year. Recruiting will shrivel and LM will be...wait for it...retained as HC.

Maybe he reads this board too much?

You must have missed the 08 season if you think 09 went "downhill".

09 was an upward trend by SEC measurements and national measurements.

We lost to Ole Miss and AL. W-L record aside, I think that makes us #3 in SEC-West. Just my opinion.

Just the opposite. If I'm proven wrong, someone will no doubt bring it up to rub it in my face. It's if I'm proven RIGHT that it'll be forgotten, because no one (including me) will feel like dragging it up to show I was right.

But, if you're willing to be honest, what would your answer be to the question posed hypothetically to LSU fans in my post? And remember, answer as if your life actually depended on giving the correct answer. Are you seriously going to try to convince anyone that you would answer "A"?

I'll be happy to bet you on that, Beatles.

If Miles produces any SEC West, overall or national title OR any win over Florida or Alabama while he is still coaching at LSU, I will never post on TD.com again.

If Miles gets fired, resigns or otherwise leaves the LSU HC job before producing any of the above, you will never post on TD.com again.

Deal?

we will, with a little early help from the football gods, be ranked in the top ten by game four and if that happens...watch the frick out.

You mean like the last two years, when we've been undefeated and ranked in the top 10 through four games? I think "watch the frick out" will be a very appropriate warning to any LSU fan who thinks we are good after four (or 14) games next season.

You need to let your ACE reporter know that Bama loses seven off its defense plus Rolando. How good is Bama without the same D?

This does not have anything to do with the talent at LSU. Ray Charles could have seen that coaching is the main problem with the program. Game planning sucks and there is NO adjustments made at any time during any game. Miles has been getting by on talent and talent alone. GC game plan is the same week after week and any jr. high school coach can figure out what he wants to do and is going to do. JC is decent at best, and being around Miles makes him feel like a genius. I can see where some sports writer would have us out of the top 25. We have NFL talent with a middle school coach.. Support the players alway but Miles
