these 2. and I'm talking about Stud as much as (if not more than) Kragz. that interview he did talking about beating the other team up and taking shots got me kinda fired up.

This is the answer. LSU hasn't had problems with inferior defenses, even with Crowton, even with young Lee & underperforming O-line in '08.

Vanderbilt? ULM? La. Tech? West Virginia? Crowton was so terrible, we had trouble even against poor defenses.
